Republic Day is here and we are sure that many of you are looking forward to watching the parade in the morning. While many of us look forward to celebrating this day with pride and honour, a lot of us do not understand its importance and often find ourselves confused between the Independence Day and the Republic Day. These two days reflect on our nation’s history, the heroes, the struggles and the progress we’ve made so far, the difference is not just limited to the dates.
So just before we immerse ourselves in the merriment, let’s take a look at these key differences between the Republic Day and the Independence Day.
1) Difference in dates
The first and the most obvious reason is the difference in the dates. While the Independence Day is celebrated on the 15th of August every year, as the declaration of independence was signed on this day back in 1947; the Republic Day is celebrated on 26th of January every year. The Republic Day is actually based on 26th November 1949; the day India’s constitution was drafted for the first time. The constitution finally came into effect on 26th January 1950 which is why it’s celebrated in January.
Republic Day celebrates India’s progress since the time of Independence. It is inclined towards highlighting the people who maintain the government like the armed forces and what the future holds. Independence Day, on the other hand, celebrates the birth of our Nation and pays tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to give our nation a better future.
3) President is the man of the Republic Day
The President is the head of the state which is why the Republic Day is his/her day to address the nation. The Independence Day is about paying a tribute to the people who helped us get where we are and fought for our nation and since the Prime Minister heads the people of India; 15th August is his/her day.
4) Differences in celebration
Another one of the major differences between the Republic Day and the Independence Day lies in the way they are celebrated. The Republic day is celebrated by showcasing a spectacular parade that highlights the achievements of every state with pride and honour. Independence Day is celebrated by every citizen of India without representing a particular state. People celebrate it by singing patriotic songs and await the inspirational speech given by the Prime minister soon after hosting the tricolour flag at the Red Fort in the capital city – Delhi.
Well well, we recently stumbled upon this old video and thought of sharing it with you guys. The video is like a short movie where there’s this badass protagonist (also referred to as a one ‘ape’ army) and a few other not-so-intelligent men. Let’s call this protagonist ‘Rambo’.
You must see how one our closest living relatives handled an Ak-47 as these fives army lads clearly seemed to have forgotten about the old saying “Think before you leap”. These army boys happily handed over one of their precious guns (loaded) to Rambo and rest is just history.
Displaying his brilliant combat moves, Rambo stole our hearts and how! Take a look.
Caution: Don’t try this at home boys! Especially if there are apes around you.
Former MTV VJ Shenaz Treasurywala is known for being in the headlines every now and then (especially for standing up for social causes) and this time she has broken all barriers.
With the recent controversy around the Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump calling for a ban on Muslims travelling into the USA; our favourite writer, actress and model Shenaz Treasurywala slammed Trump on social media and how!
The gorgeous star of the Indian ethnicity recently shared a picture of her ‘hot immigrant ass’ on behalf of all brown, Muslim and Mexican people and all we have for her is respect.
YouTube star and the ex-Big brother contestant Sam Pepper has been making headlines of late for reasons that cannot be explained. In his recent video ‘Killing best friend prank’, Sam Pepper took pranking to a whole new level with two teenage best friends named Sam and Colby who have been together for 5 years.
Unfortunately Sam has been targeted in the video and little did he know that the entire prank would change his life forever. This video has caused a lot of outrage on the Internet but we’ll get to that later. Let’s have a look at the video first.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBvX5dNdMK8
After watching this video, the Twitterati went berserk, appealing (almost threatening) to Sam Pepper to take down the video from his YouTube channel.
Here are a few of them.
@YouTube remove the murder prank #SamPepper uploaded to his channel. He needs to be reprimanded for his insulting and disgusting video
#SamPepper new prank is not a ‘prank’ .. How sick can a human being get?! I’d be so ashamed of myself if that was me.. #growup — Robbie White (@RobbieJWhiteUK) November 30, 2015
You think Sam Pepper would’ve learnt from his last “prank” But nope, unfortunately he’s still an arsehole #SamPepper
#SamPepper ‘s video was inhumane, disgusting, cruel and extremely harmful. it could’ve triggered other people who have lost their bfs. — butterfly (@seokdyo) November 30, 2015
So, remind me, why isn’t #SamPepper in prison yet?
Also, concluding the story was a petition for YouTube created by Kaylee-Jade Davis on Change.org requesting people to sign up to have the video deleted from YouTube. The petition has over 1,43,000 supporters already!
The upcoming James Bond film ‘Spectre’ is scheduled to hit the Indian cinemas on the 20th November with Daniel Craig playing the role of Bond and former WWE star Dave Bautista as the villain.
Well, we are surely looking forward to this movie, but…but but BUT here’s something about the Indian actor Varun Dhawan and how he’s related to the movie.
Dave Bautista apparently released a video challenging Dhawan to a fitness pull-up challenge.
The recent attack in Paris was declared as ‘an act of war’ by the French President Francoise Hollande as he spoke about the tragedy that killed over 129 innocent people in the French capital.
However, giving it back to the Islamic militant group ‘ISIS’ were the French airstrikes on Raqqa that destroyed a key ISIS command centre and many training facilities within the a few days following the Paris attack.
What followed was something that has been making rounds on social media and the Internet as the US military expressed solidarity with France through messages that said “From Paris, with love” on their missiles destined for Syria. Some say that these images may have been photo-shopped but nevertheless, people have been sharing them with the world expressing unity with the US army and the battle against ISIS. Take a look.

Hi, my name is courage. I look like a normal, happy and a healthy dog.
But I’m not.
I am one of those unfortunate living beings who were born on the streets and never had a chance to have a nice and loving family. They say I might be around 1.5 years old but I’ve lost the count of days where I had to go from street to street looking for food or a mere scratch on the back.
Life for me was okay till the time a human car (on a fine day) didn’t spot me walking on the road without realising that the car has brakes (or maybe he did realise – that’s something I would never know).
Little did I know, that very moment would change my life forever. Yes, the car ran over my hind legs and the human inside it never looked back.
This is exactly how he left me on the road.
You guessed it right! Those are my hind legs and I don’t feel them anymore.
I suffered at one of the busiest junctions in New Delhi with my inability to walk. I even once fell into a drain only to realise that I can’t get out of it myself. But, there was a good human that spotted me and saw how miserable I was. He was an auto-rickshaw puller. The man did pull me out of the drain but again; the hustle-bustle around that junction didn’t allow my rear legs to drag the rest of my body to a safer place. There I was. Lying in the corner for 8 days straight. Some did try and threw leftover food at me and I somehow didn’t die (though there wasn’t any reason for me to live).
Here I am now.
I do agree, not all of them are bad. There was this human who saw me fighting for life on the road side and took me somewhere in his car (though I hated the fact that I was in one). I hate cars. I’m sure you guys have figured that out by now. But strangely, I still don’t hate humans. Every time one approaches me, with my gleaming eyes I try to wag my tail with happiness but unfortunately I can’t feel my tail either.
I now live at a beautiful shelter with many other dogs (some of them are just like me) and a beautiful lady who took me in and cares for me.
I have a humble request for whoever’s reading this post. If you drive a car, please make sure that you apply brakes when you see one of us in the middle of the road. It’ll only delay your ride by 15 seconds but it will cost us our lives or put us in terrible pain for the rest of it. Give me a home? Somebody? I promise I’d love you forever!
So that’s my story. I’m a fighter. And I hope for a better tomorrow not just for me, but many others like me.
Yes, you read it right. Apparently the Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was captured wiping his hands right after shaking them with our beloved PM Narendra Modi! As true Indians, we are a bit outraged but hold on; let’s just give the guy some benefit of doubt, maybe… just MAYBE he’s a germaphobe and does that every time he shakes hands with people around?
But the question is how often do you get to shake your hands with the Prime Minister of a nation that represents the population of more than a billion?
C’mon man! The hand wipe could have waited. Take a look at this video by Semil Carlos to see what we’re talking about. (A word of advice: try not to go on an anger streak after watching it. It’s a weird world out there and everyone’s different).
If you thought only us humans can troll each other, you’ve been wrong all along! Yes, animals too have a weird sense of humour (so we’d like to think) and can make us go from crying out loud to having happy tears within a second.
Don’t believe us? Take a look at this video that sets the perfect example of what we’re talking about.
Looks like this isn’t the first time a dog has trolled humans in the history of mother Earth!
Watch this badass baby who probably inspired the one above.
Do you think this a thing dogs have been planning? We sure think so!
A man tried to find a way to get his friend’s pet treated on a very helpful Facebook community. Find a way he did, but after realising he was too quick to judge a woman who was just trying to look out for the animal. Here’s how a normal conversation turned into something you would love to read.
So here’s how it started
And then this nice woman tried to help him!
But, the translation from English to Hindi took a wrong turn. Yikes!
And from the wrong turn it turned into a hilarious disaster
And the people reading the conversation got quite the kick!
And after realising his mistake, he was decent enough to apolgise
Pooja Misrra, who sailed in the boat of fame because of Bigg Boss season 5 is back in headlines and the reason is really messed up. The actor was recorded screaming and breaking hotel property because she wasn’t allowed to leave the premises on account of not paying the bills (or so we’ve heard). And rumour has it, that there have been other complaints about her doing the same with many other hotels across cities.
The Ex- Big Boss contestant, who we have seen getting aggressive and speaking trash in the show before got us some more entertainment; well, it’s the same here but things go bad when she starts beating the crap out of the hotel staff. Yikes!
Also, give it a close look at how she kicks away the guard who was asked to take her luggage away. This damsel sure knows how to distress those around her. If possible, sit back and grab some popcorn and look at her making a joke of herself. #CelebsGoinCrazy
