  • How to survive when your mom’s out for a vacation, a guide for men!

How to survive when your mom’s out for a vacation, a guide for men!

We men are very different creatures (at least we like to believe that); we like to be all tough and rough for the world and take things with ease. We can take care of ourselves just fine until the scariest of news is broken to us: Mom is going out for a vacation! Now, we love our moms, heck, we love yours too! For different reasons, of course (No pun intended). And yes, we can take care of ourselves but that’s so hard without our mom being around. This might not make sense to women but, men know, we can’t function without out mommies. For single men, it’s like a task to figure out almost anything at home without the great matriarch being around. So, here’s how to survive when your mom’s out for a vacation!

    #1 Chapter 1: The Acceptance

You’re happy that she’s taking a break from all the hard work she’s been doing non-stop. More than anyone, she deserves vacation time in the house, true story. But to actually accept the fact that she just left for a vacation is harder than you think. It takes us a while to get over it and some men actually shed tears. Yep, some of us are emotional.

    #2 Life is in ruins

You know, shit is going down from both the sides. Where she’d be chillin’ like no one’s business, you’ll be here trying to keep your life from falling apart. The moment she leaves home, the panic strikes because, “How the f*ck am I going to get up for college/work tomorrow?” and, “What do I order for dinner tonight?” There are many more questions lined up like these but this conversation with yourself always ends with a sigh.

    #3 It’s not a kitchen, It’s a science lab

Pretty sure, many guys out there are like, “I feel you, bro”, because that is true. When your mom’s out for a vacation, things suddenly start to make no sense. The only thing that brings you hope and light (quite literally) is the fridge. Still acting like a smart ass you think you are, you choose to experiment with food. And food here strictly refers to the 2 minute noodles and nothing more.  And the experiment? Well, we just add a couple of masalas without even measuring and voila something very f*cked up is ready for us to eat. And the daring part here is to take the first bite. If it tastes fine we boast about it. Otherwise? Act like nothing like that ever happened!

#4 It’s been ages that you’ve seen your mom

We, men can be a little weird too in times like these. Mom’s been on vacation for just three days but in your head you have lost count. Because nobody’s there to cook your favourite dishes, and you don’t gel with anyone the way you do with her. God knows how but only she can find you the right pair of socks. That’s just few of her talents, if you ask us. But you need socks, and the correct pair with the right colour and size and you have to find it by yourself. 15 minutes down, you finally manage to find a pair that is slightly similar. You can call it a small victory. You deserve it.

#5 What if the trip is extended for a day or two!?

It’s the last day you’ve to do all the household work because guess who’s coming back the next day!? So, out of excitement you call her and she tells you that she might extend her trip for a day or two. And in your head, you know, you weren’t prepared for this! But you can’t say no to her, so you just go with “hmm, haan, okay.” while you pray to the lord above that she comes back a.s.a.p.! To get away from this nightmare… maybe, just maybe, you can drink the night away. Just a suggestion.

You can do all of that or just call your mom and ask whatever you need help for. It IS that easy.

    Cheers!

  • Nine ways to calm an angry woman, written by a man

Nine ways to calm an angry woman, written by a man

Women are really fun in general. Sometimes, more than men and many might not agree but their ideas of fun can put yours to shame, depending on their mood. Talking about mood, that four letter word is a very dangerous thing in a woman’s world and something a man should tread lightly with. Mood may ruin a woman’s day but that woman with the bad mood can scar you for good. And if you think it’s not rocket science when it comes to handling a woman, well, it’s tougher than that! So, here, take notes, these ways to calm an angry woman will increase your chances of handling her better. We can just wish you all the luck! Scroll away!

    #1 Write her something nice

Not many men would give in to this activity but it might actually work. But again, it all depends on the woman who is probably upset because of something even the Lord doesn’t know about. Also, it depends if she’s into reading and writing, maybe then you have a chance to make her get back to normal. If not, she might just burn that piece of paper and you with it.  Be scared, because you won’t rise up from the ashes and she’ll be looking at you burning to the ground while she sips her wine.

     1

    Source

#2 Ask her what’s going to calm her down

Okay, alright, don’t do that. If you do, you’ll be digging your own grave. Never ask a woman what’s going to calm her down. If she knew she wouldn’t need you. So you can either try something different (in which you will probably fail) or you can leave her be till she finds her cool. But you don’t know how many days, weeks, months that may last.

     2

#3 Compliment her in a way that won’t make her angry

From the long list of ways to calm an angry woman, complimenting her is the safest option. We’re pretty sure it is. But only if you do it right. If it backfires, guess who’s going to be in dire straits. It’s going to be you, dear friend. She won’t give two sh*ts about the compliment you gave, but what she understood. That’s why, tread lightly.

#4 Ice creams can be of little help!

Every woman on the planet loves ice cream! All you have to do is get the correct flavour and the right amount. If it’s less, you’re in trouble, if it’s too much, you’re the reason she’s fat and that headache you have is because she threw the empty bowl on you. Take a few hits, it’s alright, maybe you deserve it. I’m just saying.

#5 Cook for her… two minute noodles is not an option

The only reasons you’ve been in the kitchen is to get water, heat food or to find some in the middle of the night. Other than that, sex, well, if you’re that lucky. But cooking is something you never thought of doing until you decided to cook food for the angry woman in your life. And who are you kidding; the only thing about cooking you know is how it’s spelt. The two minute noodles don’t count so you can do yourself and the lovely lady a favour by just ordering her favourite food and be done with it. Play it safe when you can!

#6 Ask her friends to help you out

Now, to calm an angry woman you may think asking her friends for a little help shouldn’t be a problem. We men are a little naïve, there, her friends might somehow help you out but your angry lady will be updated by her friends with EVERY. SINGLE. DETAIL. If you succeeded in cheering her up and she gets to know about the help you took, you are back to square one. And this time, it gets tougher, just like hunger games.

    #7 Take her shopping

A woman’s favourite thing to do on this planet can very easily be shopping and if there’s a sale, the mall is her paradise! You know it pretty well, yourself, because you have been there! Behind them lifting all those bags and it shouldn’t make you feel sad for not hitting the gym. It’s no less than that!  And if she asks, about the dress, remember, be honest. Not too honest, just honest. Answer with yes or no and you’ll just be fine. Unless, you plan to f*ck it up, be my guest!

    #8 Sweet talk

Every woman is different in her own way, similarly, some might be into sweet talking and some well, you try till the time you get them into the zone or when they just tell you to stop or she’ll hit you. And you know she means it with that look on her face. But again, try; give into it without making a fool of yourself and you will succeed. She’ll probably understand and just to shut you up she’ll give in too.

    #9 Sex is the answer

Actually, men want it to be the answer and why not? It vanishes most of your problems like Hitler did with the jews? (Excuse the bad joke) but you get it. But expecting that she’ll want to have sex in that mood, man, you’re more stupid than she thinks you are. You can’t just jump right in and ask her, “let’s do it, it’ll make you feel better!” Boy, she’s a woman, who are you kidding? She’s smarter than you. You’ve got to work to earn and that implies everywhere. Make her feel fine, dine and after that, if she wants it, you’ll get it.

It can be pretty hard to find ways to calm an angry woman but there’s one that will always work; all you have to do it talk and listen to her, without judging or giving your views (unless she asks you). If she can put up with your drama, you need to reciprocate and you’re sorted. Women are lovely creatures who can be a little hard to understand but they’re fun to be around.

  • These things go through everybody’s mind when the delivery man brings you more food than you ordered!

These things go through everybody’s mind when the delivery man brings you more food than you ordered!

It’s time they made ‘food’ synonym for ‘happiness’ in the dictionaries. Some people even cry out of happiness when they see their order coming towards them. Those people are the true foodies; nobody loves food more than these people. They find food, they eat it, and only thing that comes in between might be a glass of water. But, it’s not just about them. Food, has made more people happy than almost anything else. But like everything else in the world, food also can make you sad and it’s not even food’s fault. It’s the time you have to wait for your food to come to you. That right there is the time you know hell is real. And there’s one of these things that can restore your faith in God, that is, when you get more food than you ordered. And your head is full of thoughts like these.

#1 “Is it my birthday today? That’s the best gift ever!”

The order is here and it’s heavier than I thought. There’s a lot of stuff in that bag and I can’t wait to raid it! Being an expert about the places I order from, I know there were supposed to be two boxes but instead, there are three (That’s as close as I can get to winning a lottery!). And that is enough to make me grin. It’s about time for the foodie in me to be unleashed.

    when-you-get-more-food-that-you-orderedSource

#2 “Well, bless the man who prepared my order but he better not have charged me for it!”

Whoever that person is, people need to be more giving like you! But, even if by mistake you’ve charged me for it, forget returning the extra food, I’ll feast on it and not pay a damn dime for it. You’ve been served, hah!

    when-you-get-more-food-that-you-orderedSource

#3 “I don’t know what that is but please taste good”

Be it a very random dish that I’ve never even heard of or something that I love eating from time to time, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that it should taste good. Even though I can hardly keep my hands off of the lid, I dare and I open it. Let the adventure with food begin!

    when-you-get-more-food-that-you-orderedSource

#4 “Oh boy! That smells so good!”

Getting ready to feast, and now I’m in the mood because the smell coming from the box has already got me high. As much as I’d love to share, I hope nobody comes around while I hog!

    when-you-get-more-food-that-you-orderedSource

#5 “Not to sound like an ungrateful ass**le but they could’ve sent something in non-vegetarian!”

That’d only happen if the dish they sent was vegetarian. Got no problem with vegetarian food but come on, non-vegetarian over vegetarian till the day I die!

    when-you-get-more-food-that-you-orderedSource

#6 “Not sure if I can finish all the food all by myself BUT challenge accepted!”

I’d love to share, but only if you ask for it; I’m not going out of my way to ask people if they’d like to have some. Even if there is leftover and I’m full, there are no regrets!

    when-you-get-more-food-that-you-orderedSource

#7 “Maybe, regular customers often get complimentary food? I need to stop ordering so much!”

As much as I appreciate this gesture, this comes to me as a reminder that I better cut down on ordering food all the damn time. I might not live up to that decision but trying that won’t cost me a dime just like that free dish!

  • 8 safe and simple ways to detox your body

8 safe and simple ways to detox your body

Feeling lethargic or disoriented? Struggling with skin problems, aches and pains, or digestive problems? Not able to lose weight? It might be the right time for a body detox. Keep reading to identify some safe and simple ways to detox your body and why it is needed.

    Simple-ways-to-detox-your-body

Detoxification is all about cleaning and nourishing your body from the inside. By removing and eliminating toxins and feeding your body with healthy nutrients; detoxification helps build immunity to fight diseases and renew your ability to maintain optimum health. Basically, detoxification means cleaning the blood. This is done by removing impurities from the blood in the liver where toxins are processed for elimination.

    Why detox?

Detoxification offers many health benefits like improving digestion, promoting intestinal system, increasing energy levels and nutrient absorption. Detoxification is required for vitality and rejuvenation. You should cleanseyour body to build immunity, treat diseases and prevent future problems. Detoxification is also helpful for weight loss because the body stores toxins in fat cells, although this is not the primary purpose. When you cleanse your body these toxins are more easily released from their fat stores and your body starts ridding itself of excess and unnecessary fat.

Studies say that everyone should detox at least once a year but you can cleanse your body daily with these diet tips and lifestyle practices. After cleansing you will feel more organised, more creative, more productive, more relaxed and more focused and clear.

    Eat right

You may start by adding food to your diet that help detox naturally. Eat plenty of fibre including brown rice and organically-grown fresh fruits and vegetables. High in liquid-content, fruits are very easy to digest, full of nutrients and help the body wash out toxins. Add raw veggies to your diet as the digestive enzymes are very beneficial in the natural detox process.

Garlic also has the magical power to kick out toxins from your body. This little food item is one of the best detoxing food available all over the world. It helps stimulate the liver into producing detoxification enzymes that help filter toxic residue from the digestive system.

Cleanse and protect the liver by drinking green tea. Not only is green tea full of antioxidants but it hydrates your body (especially if it’s herbal) and fills you up as well. The added bonus is that you will be less likely to overeat or eat the wrong things.

Vitamin C helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins. In particular, things like oranges, lemons, and lime aid the body in flushing out toxins and jump-starting the digestive tract with enzymatic processes. Lemon juice aids the liver in its cleansing process too.

    Drink water

Drink plenty of water in a day, say 6 litres of water minimum because we all know human body consists of 72% water. Try starting each morning with a glass of warm water with a few drops of lemon into it. It will not only help in the detoxification process but also cheer up your mood.

    Breathe more often

If you’re interested in detoxing, here’s why breathing matters. Deep breathing charges your lymphatic system by increasing oxygen levels and helps in absorbing vitamins and nutrients. Even though breathing is an automatic process, most of us make less use of this amazing built-in detox system of the human body.

    Sweat it out

There’s nothing more detoxing than sweating it out, thus go for sauna bath so that your body can eliminate waste through perspiration. You can also practice hydrotherapy by taking a hot shower for five minutes and allowing the water to run on your back, an added bonus in the detox process.

It’s proven that people who exercise regularly have far fewer total toxins in their systems. It promotes the detoxification process giving all systems of the body a boost. As you exercise, the blood circulates throughout the body, bringing nutrients to all the organs and muscles.

Six reasons that make Pushkar the perfect weekend getaway

Pushkar, also known as “The Lotus Flower”, is a 2000 years old city in India making it one of the oldest cities of the country. Mostly known for being one of the five sacred pilgrimage sites of Hindu devotees, Pushkar is a perfect getaway destination, not just for people from India but also from outside.

Pushkar is a small town near Ajmer in Rajasthan and the best part about the city is that it has no railway stations. 6) The Ajmer Sharif

Just like the Brahma Temple, The Ajmer Sharif is a prime religious place for the Muslim community. It is the shrine of the famous Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti and is located 40 kilometers from Pushkar in the Ajmer City. If you visit Pushkar, there is no reason for you to not visit The Ajmer Sharif.

Moinuddin Chishti is worshipped for spreading a simple yet powerful message that there is no God; ” One call him Allah another call him God, but they’re one and only one”.

The most fascinating part of The Ajmer Sharif is the fact that both Hindu and Islamic devotees seek blessings at this religious place and it reflects the diversity that India holds.

  • Eight annoying things about birthdays we just can’t avoid every year!

Eight annoying things about birthdays we just can’t avoid every year!

Birthdays come every year and most of us wait for them like there’s no tomorrow. Its one day of the year when people celebrate and feel special with all their loved ones around; getting gifts, fancy cakes, birthday surprises and what not.

But things don’t always go according to our plans. Somethings come complimentary with birthdays and we just can’t do anything about it. Yep, there’s a whole list of annoying things about birthdays that most of us go through year after year and there isn’t a real solution to them. Take a look.

    #1 Birthday bumps

Well, lets face it, no one likes to get kicked on an ordinary day right? Then why birthdays? Birthday bumps are so 90’s and its time we let them be. It’s my special day and you better stay away from my booty.

    via GIPHY

    #2 Those 12am phone calls

As the clock strikes 12:00 those incessant phone calls can really get to you. It’s funny how people you haven’t heard from ages are sincerely calling you to wish you “glad you are you still alive!”. Make us wonder, where the hell were these people for the last 364 days?

    via GIPHY

    #3 The Cake dilemma

Birthdays are undoubtedly the happiest day of a person’s life. But even then it all comes down to the moment of truth when you have to feed the first bite of the cake to the dearest one. Bam! That dilemma is the worst where so many people are just looking at you and you don’t know who to turn to. In that situation, take the first bite yourself. That is the best escape. You owe us one now!

    via GIPHY

#4 Family vs Friends – Who to pick?

Now that’s a tough one. Let’s admit it, your birthday can never really be your day. Trying to play sober in front of your family while you are drunk/hungover AF does not feel very pleasant. And the balancing act between family and friends is really hard to handle.

    via GIPHY

    #5 Birthday party planning

If you are planning to throw your birthday party at home we wish you luck. May lord give you the strength and perseverance to clean the random friend’s dried puke from your couch or your parent’s washroom (ouch!).

    via GIPHY

    #6 Birthday party budgets

Be ready to go broke as a joke. You might have to live from hand to mouth for the rest of the month, but your friends on the other hand will have no mercy on you and exploit every bit of the free food and booze you have to offer. Welcome to the homeless community!

    via GIPHY

    #7 Lame gifts

The whole idea of receiving gifts has always made birthdays exciting for everyone, but people fail to understand how gifts mean so much to most of us. So receiving a lame gift might make you want to punch them on the face or even worse, NOT receiving any gifts can make sh*t go down real bad.

    via GIPHY

    #8 Annoying birthday cards

If you have never received a birthday card playing ‘Happy birthday’, you must thank your stars as they can be one of the most irritating things on this planet. As you open the card you will hear a screechy voice singing happy Birthday to you and hell it will go on and on repeating the same thing making you want to tear it into pieces. Again, such cards are a passe.

    Christmas banter at the Imperial

Walk into The Imperial Hotel at Janpath and you’ll be greeted by a beautiful Christmas tree that sets the festivities right in. The indulgent buffet was decked with Christmas decorations complete with gingerbread house, stollen, traditional plum cake, Christmas pudding, macaroons, chicken and leek pies, scones among many other offerings.

    Christmas banter at the Imperial

Our favourites from the spread were the Christmas pudding with brandy sauce, tuna and olive sandwiches, mini creamy chicken sliders, lamb mince pie, chicken and leek pie and the spinach and ricotta quiche. The spread was prepared with extra ordinary care, mixing respect for tradition with a penchant for excellence and the conviction to try new techniques and ingredients.

    Christmas banter at the Imperial

Trying out the buffet in itself was an overwhelming experience but Chef Prem Kumar Pogakula’s live cookout took it many notches up. He prepared 2-minutes mug cakes (you’ll find the recipe appended below) in a microwave and offered the easy recipe to everyone for their friends and family. The showstopper of the evening was definitely the ‘Baked Alaska’ dessert, made with baked ice cream, egg white and brandy that was set on fire.

  • 12 thoughts that go through a foodie’s mind when a friend at the table asks them for a ‘bite’!

12 thoughts that go through a foodie’s mind when a friend at the table asks them for a ‘bite’!

‘Food’ is a very sensitive topic when you talk about a foodie’s life. A foodie can be anyone; your best friend, your family member, your girlfriend and even your boss. It’s extremely important to know who the foodie in your circle is, as you don’t really want to be in their bad books especially when it comes to sharing meals.

When they allow you to have a bite of their food with a smile, don’t believe them. You don’t know what they are actually thinking while saying it (imagine sharing something you love so much with somebody else – with a smile). They’re like that pissed off girlfriend whose favourite reply to “what’s wrong?” is “nothing”. So next time you ask a foodie for a bite, this is what they are probably thinking!

#1 “Get your own damn food!”

Tell us how hard is that? You order food and it comes to your table and nowadays people even deliver for free! So, what’s with asking for a bite? You can ask how it tastes and we’ll let you know and you can be on your way. That sounds convenient, doesn’t it? Try THAT, maybe!?

     foodie

    Source

#2 “I hope it makes you poop in your sleep”

Fine, we have made our peace with you being a bugger and taking away a piece of our ‘precious’ from us. But with good food comes great poop and you my friend – will never know when it comes (or so we hope). You may long for a good dump but it will be there when you lay asleep in your bed dreaming of our food while you least expect it. Next thing you know, your bed smells, man, it looks even worse now.

    foodie

    Source

#3 “You better take a small bite”

Our fingers are crossed and prayers are in our heads just because we’re hoping you don’t open up that monster mouth and take it all away from us. A small bite is what we were asked for, anything more than that and you’ll witness the wrath of our Lords!

    foodie

    Source

#4 “I wish I could charge you per bite”

Don’t mean to be a cheap ass here, but if that’s what it takes to keep people away from my food – it shall be done. Spread the word to foodies all over the world! It’s like a cure for zombies. It might just work because cheap ass people can surprise you, yep!

     foodie

    Source

#5 “I paid for it, not you!”

That burger cost 100 bucks and that’s like nothing! You’d spend that on cigarettes or chocolates maybe a box of chewing gums but not buy yourself a burger? ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME!?

     foodie

    Source

#6 “That’s right, eat up, I ordered it for you”

Here! *moves the plate towards the friend* don’t even save one bite, okay? It’s my favourite but I ordered it for you, of course! Chew on! (some people suck at understanding sarcasm, it’s not your fault)

     foodie

    Source

#7 “I have to ask you to taste but please decline my offer, please?”

Okay, I’ll be nice and ask you if you’d like a bite and you WILL refuse to try, that’s how it goes. Please play it the way I imagined it to be. Please god, please!

    foodie

    Source

#8 “I hope you choke on that!”

All right, take a bite; get it over with, pronto! I hope you choke on it the moment you start to enjoy it though and I’ll look at you with a straight face while you beg for some water.

    foodie

#9 “I’m Joey and you know what? JOEY DOESN’T SHARE FOOOOD!”

I have figured, this is how I’m going to introduce myself to new people I meet at the restaurant and give them a heads up by saying what Joey always said, just in case they start eyeing my food. Listen up, you sneaky little bugger, Joey DOESN’T SHARE FOOD!

    foodie

    Source

#10 “I should order something that you’re allergic to!”

That’s like a full proof master plan to keep you away from my territory. All you can do is eye my lasagne, maybe or smell if from a distance because that’s all you’re going to get. Order yourself some fries maybe and if there’s not enough salt, you can use your tears. HAH!

    foodie

    Source

#11 “If I’m hungry later, I’m going to curse you, wait, that’s already happening!”

Well, I can of course order more food, but cursing you will give me some amount of satisfaction till my food is delivered. And hopefully you won’t be around for a “small” bite!

#12 “Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad!” – Russell Peters

Remember that phrase Russell Peters’ dad used, well, this time, it’s going to be me. Believe me, it will be more than words. Take two steps back from my plate. Now!

  • 5 things you missed out on if you didn’t attend the Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Delhi!

5 things you missed out on if you didn’t attend the Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Delhi!

28th and 29th November were the happiest two days of November in Delhi. All thanks to Bacardi NH7 Weekender, people in the capital witnessed something so legendary that they couldn’t get enough. Coming back to us every year, Weekender has always landed right on our expectations with what they promise. And this year, they helped us Delhiites to put an end to November with a bang. This is what Bacardi NH7 Weekender did for us!

    #1 Great music, of course!

That’s what Bacardi NH7 Weekender is all about when you have freaking fifty artists who performed for Delhi for two days! It included big names like, A.R. Rahman, Vishal Dadlani, Mark Ronson, Vir Das’ Alien Chutney and many more! This is what gets the people together every year. Seriously, if you missed out on this, feel sorry for yourself.

    #2 The Merchandises!

Talk about crazy party merchandises; from hoodies, sweatshirts, posters to even records for gramophones, everything a music-lover wants was available for them to purchase at the event and in abundance. It won’t be incorrect to say that the inner shopaholic of a music lover came to life for those two days.

    #3 Bacardi OCULUS!

This year at Bacardi NH7 Weekender people were introduced to a 7D virtual experience, Bacardi OCULUS. It was an experience that took the fans and fun to another level and of course, raised the bar for all the other music fests happening around the country.

    Bacardi NH7 Weekender

    #4 Good food!

Where there are people, good music and drinks, food becomes a necessity. And when you have thousands of people come together for a great time food is what keeps the energy up. Plus, having stalls by some of the best outlets in the food court, people had to make difficult decisions between attending the concert and hogging some mouth-watering food.

    Bacardi NH7 Weekender

    Source

(It’s getting better and better, isn’t it? Don’t start to weep now)

    #5 The mad crowd

Delhi has been known for its energy when it comes to a festival that has been bringing them such great artists over the years. The crowd had one job, to enjoy to the extreme and Delhi has always done that flawlessly. Delhi cheered for the artists just to send out a message that they are having the time of their lives. Two insane nights has satisfied Delhi’s hunger until Bacardi NH7 Weekender is back again.

This woman rescues stray dogs and her story will make your heart melt!

Have you ever saved another being’s life? If you have you’ll understand the rewarding experience that it is to help someone live another day. Now imagine doing that for a living? Without expecting anything in return? Sounds amazing, doesn’t it! Anuradha Mishra Jain does just that for stray dogs and her life is a lesson for all of us.

Anuradha Mishra Jain runs a pet shelter in Ghaziabad and her life is an example for many of us. She doesn’t just rescue sick dogs from the streets but makes sure that they are well fed and brought back to good health. Not just that, her main task is to look after strays that are mostly declared terminally ill by various leading pet care facilities. She specializes in critical care and has been trained by a senior veterinary officer. She started running her pet shelter ‘Hope for the speechless souls’ six months back, but she has been helping stray dogs with food and medical aid since nineteen years.

    Inpost1

Initially a hobby, now a fully grown pet care facility, her shelter houses 30 dogs and ensures they are looked after well. What’s more, she feeds 70 other dogs in the surrounding areas and provides them with basic medical care on a regular basis. Her dogs aren’t just the ones found or abandoned on the streets; she takes in dogs brought in by people and treats them to wellness. She takes pride in single-handedly managing the shelter using funds that come from her paying guest accommodations and a generous help from her husband. However, she is quick to point out that some noble people donate food, medicines and sometimes money to help her look after ‘her kids’ as she addresses them.

Things you can do with your colleagues after work!

You walk into the office on just another morning and see your colleagues; the same sleepy faces, a yawn crying for a cup of coffee and you know you’re one of them.  You wait for the working hours to get over so you can head out and get the madness started with the same faces, now friends. So if you’re running out of ideas about what to do next with your colleagues/friends after work, we’ve got some suggestions for you.

Here are things you can do with your colleagues after work!

    #2 Next stop: Food!

You need food. Wait, to put it correctly, we all need ‘good’ food after work. Because ghar ka khana, just can’t make do with it.

    #3 Beer sessions

With beer arrives your smile. And then you talk about the most random crap that’s in your head.  And with the beer, the day ends on a fantastic note.

    #4 Drinking games

Every office has got some pretty funny secrets. And you know that your teammate knows a lot of them. If you want to get hold of these secret in clever-yet-subtle fashion, you can start a drinking game. Let’s say, ‘Drink if’, that game has embarrassed people, got everyone in the game drunk and leaves you with that ‘WTF look’ and a hangover for the morning.

We’ll add Kill, F*ck, Marry. And leave this point right here.

    #5 Talk work

Whether you’re a workaholic or someone who likes to be touted as one, discussing work with a colleague after-hours can be interesting too. However, we’d say add some creativity to and discuss work in a more fun and not-so-professional manner.

    #6 Go shopping

This one’s for the ladies, their priorities are a tad bit different, you know.

7 awesome things one must do in Goa!

All of us need a break every now and then from the city’s hustle bustle and there is no better destination in India than Goa for that time away. The sound of the waves and the aroma of all the seafood along with that chilled glass of beer promises to relax your mind and soul! But, but, BUT your Goa vacation would be incomplete if you don’t (or haven’t yet) done the following things.

Here’s a list of 7 awesome things one must do in Goa!

    1. Morning drinking

Everybody loves to grab a drink when the sun goes down in Goa. But have you ever tried having a drink when the sun comes up? As funny as it may sound, believe us; it is something you have to try!

    1

    2. Experiment with clothes

Everyone has certain clothes in their wardrobes which they bought in the past but never dared to wear. How about giving them a shot in a city where there’s no one to judge you on what you’re wearing!

    2

    3. Street shopping

Chuck the branded stuff and experiment with street wear! All the flea markets in Goa will surely leave you mesmerised!

    3

    4. Learn how to ride a bike

Just the thrill of riding a two-wheeler on those narrow roads while escaping all the traffic gives a different feeling all together.

    4

    5. Goan cuisine

Listen to us – DO NOT stick to your stereotypes when it comes to food. Try a new dish every time you step out to eat (but don’t forget to carry digestive pills with you just in case!).

    5

    6. Experience the solitude

Goa is one of the best places in India to be with friends. But don’t forget to take some time out for yourself as you sit by the beach and listen to the wonderful waves!

    6

    7. Aqua therapy

Aquatic therapy is a scientifically proven way of combining relaxation and fitness. It’ll be just silly if you don’t indulge in some pool games or water sports with your friends and family while you’re in Goa. Make use of the facilities available at your disposal and come back feeling light and calm.

  • Asian food indulgence at Chi Asian Cookhouse now in Janpath

Asian food indulgence at Chi Asian Cookhouse now in Janpath

There are now many restaurants in Delhi offering great Asian food, and they are only getting better. Thank people with open mindsets and taste palettes along with an ever-increasing sense of competition to win over the hearts of Delhiites, known for taking their food very damn seriously.

Offering Pan-Asian food in the most accessible part of the city, Janpath, now is Chi Asian Cookhouse; a reinvention of Chi Kitchen & Bar (at Select Citywalk Mall, Saket). For those who love digging into real Asian food, this place is a must-visit. What’s great about the place is that it does not offer fusion-Asian and the place isn’t decked with the colour red or the obvious Chinese motifs that really just distract you from enjoying the real taste of the food.

    Chi Asian Cookhouse, Janapth (2)

Their food menu offers salads, soups, skewers, oriental roasts, dimsums, crisps, pancakes & rolls and some more main dishes. Gone are the days when one placed food orders following a script starting with soup & salad, moving on to the starters followed by the rest, which is why we ordered the dimsums first. Since we haven’t been to many places offering good prawn dimsums in Delhi, we ordered that first and didn’t regret the decision at all. Soft on the outside and just the perfect amount of crisp on the inside their ‘Prawn Cheung Fun’ was exactly what we were looking for. The dark soy sauce served with added just the right flavour to it.

    IMG_9232

    Prawn Cheung Fun

The ‘Ho Chi Minh Grilled Chicken Satay’ (chicken skewers seasoned with chilli and lemon leaf) and the ‘Cho Ca Thang’ (Vietnamese fish skewers served with turmeric and dill) were the starters. The chicken was slightly over done but the garlic sauce paired with it made up for the dry taste.

    FullSizeRender (2)

    Cho Ca Thang

If you’re a fan of curry, then you must definitely order the ‘Cheating Chilli Prawns’ served in a tangy yet very chilli sauce. Order the aromatic rice to go with them, we’d recommend the ‘Roast Garlic and Coriander’ rice. Finish off with the warm coconut pancakes served with vanilla ice cream, topped with an orange drizzle and thank us later.
