  • 10 struggles every tall girl faces when she wears heels

10 struggles every tall girl faces when she wears heels

Being tall is normally looked at as a blessing and people of all shapes and heights should be embraced equally. But if you’re a tall girl who loves her heels, we are sure you think about all sorts of things you’ll have to go through before putting your favourite pair of stilettos on. From loving your high heels to doubting your decision to wear them and wanting to beat up all the annoying short people who comment on your height, here are ten things tall girls face while stepping out wearing those heels.

    1) And it starts with ‘You’re already tall, why do you wear heels?’

    1

    2) When you walk into a room, everyone stares at you and they keep staring until you’ve sat down.

    v

    3) Your girlfriends definitely use you when tall men aren’t around for all sorts of chores, “I am sure you can reach that item on the top shelf. Will you please bring it down for me?” And yes it’s annoying.

    3

    4) People often ask you “how’s the weather up there?” and you can’t help but give them the death stare.

    giphy (2)

    5) People automatically assume you’re going to be good at every sport on this planet. Well honestly, all tall girls don’t know how to play a sport and being tall isn’t automatically going to make anyone good at any sport.

    giphy (3)

    6) Taking pictures with your friends is always a task obviously because you are always out of the frame. Always.

    giphy (5)

    7) Wanting to wear heels because well they look great, but not wanting to wear heels because you don’t want to tower over every single person you’re going to be around (which is more of a perk when you’re trying to avoid some people).

    7

     8) Those comments when you walk down a street and a little kid goes like “Hey mom, can you see that tall thing?” and you go like “Hey kid just wait till you hit puberty and this sh*t gets awkward real quick?”

    giphy (1)

    9) A tall girl can be a singer, a doctor or anything she wishes to be but wait, the only thing people think you could be is a model and with those heels on, you are definitely a MODEL.

    9

    10) Apart from being called tall (all the time), there is always someone who’s secretly guessing your height. Jealous much?

  • Tips to fix those brittle nails

Tips to fix those brittle nails

Dry, chapped and brittle nails can be bothersome especially when they break even at the slightest pressure. It’s not just painful but heartbreaking to lose a nail, particularly when you are getting ready to go out. One of the main causes of nail brittleness is lack of Vitamin D and protein in the diet. So make sure you adequately expose your body to the sun and also include pulses and vegetables such as radish, cucumber and olives in your diet. Here are some quick tips that will help you get strong, healthy and shiny nails.

Keep them short: It’s very important to keep your nails well-groomed at all times to avoid chances of breakage. Thus, getting a manicure once in two weeks is a must to ensure that you get rid of dead nail cuticle that hinders the nail growth. You must also neatly clip your nails and apply a coat of nail hardener or a transparent nail shiner for better results.

Oil them up: Dab a few drops of olive oil or castor oil on to your nails and massage gently till it’s fully absorbed, and leave overnight. Repeat this process for about a month and see the change for yourself. Castor oil and olive oil soften and moisturise the nails making them less prone to chipping and breaking.

Keep it natural: Using too much nail colour not only stains the nails making them look yellowish but also makes them dry and brittle. So make sure you do not use a nail paint on a regular basis instead keep them moisturised and natural looking.

Avoid using acetone: While removing the nail colour, do not use a remover which contains 100% acetone as it dries out the nails making them prone to breakage and damage, instead go for a remover that contains low levels of acetone or a water based remover.

Keep nail files around: File your nails evenly and to the same length at least once a week as uneven and unfiled nails are more prone to chipping and breaking.  Make sure to file them in the same direction and avoid making them too pointed to prevent nail breakage. Replace your file every month or before the grain smooths out.

  • Outfit of the week

    Outfit of the week

Looking for this week’s outfit inspiration? We’ve got the perfect outfit to make your week look as bright as the sun. This ensemble will make you look nothing less than Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City walking down the streets of Manhattan on a hot summer day. Beat the scrunching heat with a pair of wide legged printed pants and team it with a crop top for an effortlessly chic look. Shade yourself from the sun with a hat and sunnies and keep the makeup natural, as sometimes the makeup tends to shift or get washed out because of the heat. For footwear, we suggest that you go for open/peep-toe pumps because they really complement wide legged pants. You can work this outfit from a sunny day to a glamorous night out by adding a chunky neckpiece or a body chain. Get this outfit and glam up the streets just like these celebs spotted donning similar outfits!

  • Myths about wearing high heels debunked!

Myths about wearing high heels debunked!

Most women love wearing heels and women who wear heels on a regular basis are often advised not to because of some popular myths. Here are three myths about wearing high heels that every shoe-loving woman must know to keep those answers ready for people who advise them against wearing beautiful footwear.

    1) Heels are harmful for your legs

Bigger calves, varicose veins, weight gain, knee problems and arthritis are not problems caused by wearing heels alone. These problems could be due to a lot of other lifestyle and hereditary factors as well. We don’t mean to suggest that wearing heels has no impact on your overall body posture at all but wearing them wisely with insoles and the optimum height according to your body type can reduce the risk of such problems.

    2) Pregnant women cannot wear heels

Heels do not cause complications in a pregnancy. The only reason women are advised against wearing heels while they are pregnant is so they don’t trip and fall. If you feel that you can walk comfortably in heels then you may wear them while you’re pregnant too, but be careful.

    3) High heels can turn an outfit around as against flats

It’s not necessary that high heels can turn any outfit around and make you look sophisticated. Determine the need for heels and flats by the overall look of what you’re wearing. Stylists suggest that if your dress is very short then pair it with shorter heels or flats and vice versa.
