How to apply mascara like a pro!

Mascara is an indispensable part of eye makeup. Along with flawless skin and model-esque figure, long lashes remain a symbol of beauty and femininity that women long for. It adds dimension and draws attention to your eyes. Mascara also adds depth to your eyes and opens them up even if you are not wearing any eye shadow. For the same reasons, it is very important to know the right way to apply mascara as you may end up looking like a clown with clumped lashes or get raccoon eyes with flaked mascara. Let’s face it no one wants that. Used by makeup artists worldwide, here are 10 tips to apply mascara like a pro!

1) Don’t plump the mascara wand in and out of the bottle. This pushes air into the tube that makes the mascara dry out faster causing it to clump and flake.

2) Ensure that you scrape or wipe off any excess product from the wand. This will help you avoid using too much mascara that makes your lashes clumpy.

3) Always apply your mascara in a back-and-forth motion gently wiggling and sweeping it from the root of your lashes to the end.

4) Layer your normal mascara with a waterproof mascara to make it last longer and to add more intensity to your lashes.

5) For those who have lighter lashes, coat both sides of your upper lashes by alternating between looking up and looking down, that way your lashes are fully covered and they look thicker.

6) While applying mascara on your lower lashes always look up and hold the wand vertically for a natural finish.

7) Soak your mascara in a cup of warm water to make the mascara thinner. This removes all the clumps from the product and makes it easier to apply.

8) To avoid getting mascara underneath your eyes use a spoon while applying mascara. Hold the spoon with the curved side, facing out, near the lower lash line and gently swipe the wand across the lashes for a clump-free lash.

9) If your lashes tend to fall straight, curl your lashes with an eyelash curler while applying mascara at the same time to keep them curled longer.

10) To avoid smudging mascara on your upper eyelid, use a business card and gently lift your eyelid and apply mascara.

DIY: Convert your old t-shirt into a crop top using leftover lace

Use your leftover lace to convert your old t-shirt into a crop top at home with just fabric glue. Watch this tutorial to find out how.

Things you need: old t-shirt, some leftover lace, fabric glue, a felt pen, a pair of scissors and a ruler

Take a look at the steps:

Place your old t-shirt on a flat surface. Using the ruler and the felt pen, mark the desired length for your crop top and carefully cut across the marked line. Now measure the required length of the lace to cover the circumference of the t-shirt fully.

Stick the lace on to the t-shirt using fabric glue. Let it dry for 10 minutes and you’re done!

Holmes who was believed to be one of the first serial killers. He confessed that he killed 27 people but it’s said that the real number was around 200 and most of them were young girls.

It’s pretty obvious that DiCaprio plays H.H. Holmes and Scorsese is doing what he does best. The movie has been work-in-progress for decades and now that Leonardo DiCaprio has been on board for two years, it’s finally happening.

1. Remote control

You get back home, change into your sweats and just when you decide to climb under the blanket and watch some TV or turn on the AC….BAM! That stupid remote goes missing. You curse it left, right and center and ransack the entire place to find that little device. Sh*t gets tougher when you do it while being in an intoxicated stage.

2. Lighter

A cigarette lighter is the most wh*r-ish element that circulates around at parties and get-togethers. Sadly there are times when you really feel like having a smoke and realise that the lighter is not in your pocket. Sucks! Doesn’t it?

3. Your phone and wallet

After that heavy night of drinking, the two things that absolutely love to play hide and seek with you are your wallet and your cell phone (which is most likely switched off). That mini heart attack is the real pain that stinks more than a hangover!

4. Your phone charger

Talking about switched-off cell phones! Where did you keep your charger? Is it in the car? Or maybe somebody borrowed it. Life seems so unfair when you finally find your phone only to realise that the charger’s being a b*tch!

5. Car keys

Yeah yeah. They all fall into the same category.

6. Your friends!

Well, you’re at a party of a 100 people and there you are, standing alone in a corner trying to look for familiar faces. Just make sure when you try to call your friends, your drunken self doesn’t accidentally end up calling your parents on speed dial! That’s not the conversation you would want to have!

7. Your brain

Wise decision-making? A big NO! Just remember – you can always blame it on the alcohol the next day.

8. Your self-respect

Having a conversation with a total stranger is the easiest thing to do. Going a little ahead with them with you know what is another thing that happens with some under the influence of alcohol. In such cases, refer to point number 7.
