The top 10 being presented at E3

With a vast arsenal of games being presented at E3, the big 3 Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo plan to fully utilise their next gen consoles by providing some of the most amazing games to the audience.

Not everyone has the time to watch the entire coverage of everything being showcased at E3, so here’s a list of the biggest and best titles you should look forward to this week.

1) The Last Guardian

The ever classic shadow of colossus after so long finally gets its sequel bringing an end to the trilogy. Keeping information under wraps and by delaying the release date, Sony opens their show by bringing out the big guns by showing in game footage of The Last Guardian. All aboard the hype train.

2) Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Sony keeps their fans gripped to their seats by revealing game play footage and mechanics of Uncharted 4. Being an ace in Sony exclusives, this game needs to reach the expectations and for doing so it has been delayed to 2016. We shall hear more about it this week.

3) No Man’s Sky

With a few teasers given here and there and the release date kept hidden, No Man’s Sky is definitely one of the most awaited games this year. The biggest sandbox game of all time, No Man’s Sky steals the show at E3. Watching its coverage is a must for every game lover.

4) Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

The ultimate fusion of stealth, RPG, hack & slash and exploration finally hits the next gen consoles. Its prequel is ranked among the best action game and the fans cannot wait to find out what the 3rd installment has to offer. The trailer released earlier this week had us more than hooked.

5) Halo 5: Guardians

Microsoft won’t just let Sony steal the show. Xbox’s exclusive trump card Halo comes out with their 5th installment Halo 5 which already has immense competition. However, to make the cut, Halo 5 has to be top notch. Watching its coverage should be worth your while.

6) Need for Speed

For all those gamers whose inner racer is just waiting to go all out. Rejoice! The NFS reboot provides a hella lot more features and for the first time it has a convincing story mode with different paths. But in the end it’s all about racing and to know more about that we’ll just have to wait and watch.

7) Metal Gear Solid 5

As the grand finale to glorious metal gear solid series, Konami will present nothing less than a solid 10/10 to its fans. Even those who aren’t big fans of the series should watch its coverage because every metal gear trailer is like a mini movie. Truly inspiring.

8) Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

An E3 without an assassin creed title just wouldn’t be an E3. Presenting the new add on in the series, Syndicate is absolutely unique by providing two protagonists and attracting a larger crowd by introducing its first playable female assassin. Its coverage is expected to have the highest audience by far.

9) DOOM

In this E3 , one of the biggest reboot titles definitely has to be DOOM. The classic game gets revamped in such an intense way that just a sneak peek at the game makes you wanna buy it. Looking forward to this one.

10) Fallout 4

Saving the best for the last, Fallout 4 gets all the hype and sweeps the crowd. With a vast array of new features and the freedom to customise your character and the world around you, Fallout 4 is living up to its title. If you have to save money to buy a game, this is it.

Game of Thrones season 5 finale: Et tu, Brute?

There wasn’t a single moment that didn’t lack grief in the last instalment of Game of Thrones season 5. And the best moment according to the makers of the show which was also the worst moment for the viewers, was obviously saved for the end. Some surprises, mostly shocks and a lot of sorrow are the ingredients of the last episode. Here is a list of the key moments. Spoilers included, goes without saying!

1) Too little too late – Stannis Baratheon

Setting his own daughter on fire in front of everyone in the name of the King’s blood did not do anything for Stannis Baratheon. Not only did half his army leave him overnight, his wife hung herself by a tree out of guilt and a conscience which wasn’t really helpful anymore. Stannis then heads to the Bolton’s only to realise that they are prepared for an open blood bath. And, needless to say, he loses the battle. In other news, Lady Melisandre anticipating the situation of Stannis’ army heads to Castle Black like a coward. On meeting Jon Snow, she says nothing (no mention of what she did to Princess Shireen too) and walks inside with a grieving face. Revenge finally sets in when Lady Brienne of Tarth kills Stannis Baratheon avenging the death of Renly Baratheon (because she used to serve him then).

2) Meet Arya Stark face to face

Arya Stark finally crosses a name off her list by killing Ser Meryn Trant appearing as a child prostitute in front of him. While we felt proud of her in that very moment, but like always, the pride was snatched away from us when Jaqar H’ghar tells Arya that she killed someone she wasn’t supposed to because of her personal reasons and she must pay for it. Pay she does and loses her eyesight!

3) Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy

The moment Lady Brienne and her squire turn their sight away from the high tower; Sansa manages to light that candle she had been meaning to for so long. All that effort was basically of no good. While Ramsay is out for war, Sansa tries to flee only to run into Reek and Ramsay’s lover, Myranda. While Myranda plans to return Sansa to Ramsay Bolton, so he can use her to get an heir, Reek (or Theon Greyjoy) finally mans up and pushes Myranda down to death. They both then jump from the wall, hand-in-hand leaving their fates to the Gods.

4) Cersei Lannister – The walk of shame

Broken and bogged down, Cersei decides to confess to the High Sparrow and wishes to spend time with her son in return. She only confesses to being involved with cousin Lancel Lannister out of marriage (no mention of Jamie anywhere) and the High Sparrow agrees to her wish given that she has completed her atonement and walk of shame. She is then stripped down, washed, locks chopped off and made to walk naked till King’s Landing while people curse her and throw… let’s just say things, at her.

5) Jamie Lannister finally feels what it’s like to be a father for 5 seconds

While bidding their goodbyes to Dorne, Ellaria Sand plants a long kiss on Myrcella’s lips wishing her all the happiness in the world. Jamie Lannister, Prince Trystane, Bronn and Myrcella then finally set out for King’s Landing when Jamie tries to tell Myrcella the truth about him and Cersei only to find out that she already knows. They share a brief father-daughter moment in a warm embrace when Myrcella starts bleeding from her nose and well…dies. Need help connecting the dots? Ellaria is then shown wiping her nose in Dorne and drinking the antidote to save her from the poison that was on her and Myrcella’s lips.

6) Are the Dothraki’s back?

Tyrion, Missandei and Grey Worm take charge of Meereen as Khaleesi is out in the wild with her dragon, when Jorah and Daario begin their quest to bring her back. Khaleesi and her hungry dragon, who is of no use at the moment, are in the middle of nowhere when Khaleesi is surrounded by the Dothraki army (Remember how they hate her?). She very smartly drops her ring so that someone can trace her but do the Dothrakis think of her the same way?

7) You really know nothing Jon Snow!

Just like his father Ned Stark, Jon Snow stood up for an honourable cause and got deceived by his own. He was tricked by Olly under the pretext of knowing the whereabouts of his uncle Benjen. He was then stabbed by the men of the Night’s Watch repeatedly (Et tu, Brute?). The most painful part is that the last person to stab him is Olly, that little kid!

Po is back and we couldn’t be more excited! Kung Fu Panda 3 reveals its first look!

The adorable lazy rolly polly Kung fu fighting panda ‘Po’ will make a grand comeback in early 2016 (Jan 29^th, 2016) and guess what? He won’t be the only panda around this time in the third installment of the Kung Fu Panda franchise!

Po, who was shown to be the last surviving panda now finally gets a chance to reunite with his people and his real family in Kung Fu Panda 3 , who have been living in a secret panda village after the attack on their original village (as shown in the previous movie).

And guess who’s playing the role of the father of Po?

Bryan Cranston! After all the seriousness on the critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad, ‘Walter White’ will now be seen in a new avatar of a panda who has come to chill with his panda son in the Kung Fu Panda 3.

The only good thing about the summer heat except for the mimosas and the beer mugs (goes without saying) is the bunch of awesome movies that come with it every year. Up, up and away! And that’s how Mother Targaryen killed it in Game of Thrones Episode 9!

Let’s admit it; the entire world was thrilled with last week’s installment of Game of Thrones (episode 8) as the Whitewalkers came snarling down the mountains destroying almost half the wildlings’ army. As the winter approached in the north, our beloved kingdoms of the south had a different story to tell. Take a look at a flash back of the latest episode and what made it so awesome!

Spoilers ahead OBVIOUSLY!

1. Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 9 – ‘The Dance of Dragons’ concluded with a beautiful, like never before, twist in the end as Khaleesi gave her fans something to look forward to (finally the woman has started to make sense)! Yes, her free dragon named ‘Drogon’ saved the day (and his mother) while in an attack by the Sons of the Harpy in Meereen! We bet the moment when she mounts Drogon and flees away from the fighting arena stole the hearts of millions around the world! Long live Khaleesi! Now get the other two children out (It’s about time).

PS – While all this happened, did we mention that Hizdahr zo Loraq got murdered by the Sons of the Harpy? Dang! Was a good man, that one!

2. Stannis Baratheon – We dislike you (read HATE). Who sets his own daughter on fire for an Iron Throne? Our hearts were shattered when Lady Melisandre torched up the pyre with Princess Shireen tied to it. Game of Thrones has showed us how bad/inhuman people can really be! Well atleast, Stannis got a little dose by the Boltons in the beginning of the episode where Ramsay with an army of 20 raided their tents and lit up their horses. Good move boy! Next time, go for Melisandre! She’s the cunning counselor that will surely take Stannis down one day.

3. Jon Snow makes it back to the wall (with the wildlings) – Yes, Lord commander Jon Snow made it back with the left over army of wildlings to prepare for a bigger battle with the Whitewalkers. We’d love to see that now, won’t we? Alliser Thorne seemed a bit reluctant in opening the gates for them at first, but does it anyway. God knows what’s in store for this new union between the two arch enemies!

4. Little Arya sure has something on her mind. Her role in the last episode wasn’t very clear regarding what she really wanted, but we definitely know there’s something plotting in her little head! The thin-man isn’t one of her biggest concerns right now!

5. Jamie Lannister’s daughter is finally getting home! With Jamie and Bronn declared free by Prince Doran, now the reunited father and daughter are set to go back to King’s Landing joined by the prince of Dorne Trystane Martell who is to wed Jamie’s daughter!

Entourage, Spy, Jurassic World, and Ted 2 are set to hit the cinema screens and spice up your boring weekends. Here is everything you need to know about these silver screen releases before you grab your movie tickets.

1) Entourage

The much anticipated big screen version of the award-winning hit HBO series, starring Evin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven is set to hit the cinemas on 4th June. This American comedy is back in continuation after the 8^th season as a movie to tickle your funny bone with its sarcasm and comedy.

2) Spy

This multi- starrer American action comedy is hitting the screens on 5th June. The movie revolves around a CIA analyst Susan Cooper (played by Melissa McCarthy) who has spent her entire career as a desk jockey, working hand-in-hand with the dashing agent Bradley Fine (played by Jude Law). Using high-tech equipment and a hidden earpiece, Susan is the guardian angel who helps Bradley avoid danger. So save the date and watch this movie at your nearest cinema.

3) Jurassic World

4) Ted 2

This American comedy is set to hit the theatres on 26th June. The story revolves around Ted (the bear) who marries Tami-Lynn, his girlfriend from the first film, and the couple try for a baby together. The twist is that Ted needs his best friend John to provide sperm for artificial insemination. However, to have custody of this child, he has to prove to a court of law that he is human. So wait till you fall off your seats laughing.

Reasons why Game of Thrones season 5 is a snooze fest!

We’re pretty sure all Game of Thrones fans out there are sort of disappointed with how season 5 has turned out so far. Things are let’s just say… drab. Don’t know what we’re talking about? Here’s a look at a few characters that have proved to be extremely disappointing for us episode after episode!

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

1) Khaleesi – Well somebody’s lost the plot here and is behaving like Sansa Stark! Yes, we have never come across a more confused character than Daenerys Targaryen especially when she decided to marry Hizdahr zo Loraq from the ancient family in Meereen while fornicating with her mercenary captain Daario Naharis. Now what’s that all about? We feel like holding her by the shoulders and shaking her real hard to do something better if she wants to be the queen of the seven kingdoms! Also, a word of advice – being ruthless to innocent souls is NOT what we expect from her.

2) Sansa Stark – There’s not much to talk about Sansa here. Just like the previous seasons, the damsel in distress (quite perpetually) doesn’t have a lot to do this season either (apart from erm… getting raped by her not-so-loving husband Ramsay Bolton)! Sansa! WAKE UP!!!! Trust no one in Winterfell! You still have friends in the north remember? (And Theon Greyjoy isn’t one of them). Get a grip of yourself, light that candle in the high tower and for lords’ sake start trusting the right people (Hint: Lady Brienne of Tarth)

3) King Tommen – Hey there little one, how about behaving like a real king? Your wife’s in prison, your brother-in-law is in the prison and NOW YOUR MOTHER IS IN THE PRISON!!!! That’s very kingly of you. We need war or some action since you have enough reasons to stand up and do something that would finally make history.

4) Arya Stark – Training to be a master assassin under Jaqen H’ghar (the Faceless Man)? Really? We expected you to pull out great guns and take revenge for your family. All those seasons you’ve been chanting names of people you wanted dead made us believe you’d come up with a plan, a smart plan by a 15 year old. But scrubbing floors and cleaning corpses wasn’t a part of the agenda now, was it?

5) Jorah Mormont – Trying to earn brownie points by capturing Tyrion Lannister to impress your Khaleesi? We must say it was a good idea indeed but then like they say ‘life’s what happens while you’re busy making other plans’; in your case – well, sh*t happened’. Ser Jorah was expected to be back with a big bang but now the best option for him is to only worry about not turning into one of those stone men! Wake us up when that’s over!

6) Theon Greyjoy – Reek, boy you only ‘reek’ of cowardice, treachery and contempt! How about showing some mercy for the girl you grew up with? Don’t make us hate you more than we hated Geoffrey! Be a man, believe us – you don’t really need ‘man parts’ to act like one! Your face makes us angry and bored at the same time. Enough said!

So there! Season 5 you’ve been not-so-good this far! Please pick up! Your fans have high hopes with the lead characters (to say the least)! And for heaven’s sake – WHERE the heck is winter?!?

Masaan’s premier staring Richa Chadda at Cannes receives a 5 minutes long standing ovation!

Actress Richa Chadha was left teary eyed when her film Masaan which was premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival received a five minutes long standing ovation. Richa Chadha who made her debut in 2013 Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur is the lead actress in the movie. Masaan is an Indo-French co-production produced by Manish Mundra and is one of the only two Indie movies that have been screened at Cannes this year, the other being Chauthi Koot a Punjabi film. Based on a true story, the film portrays four lives that intersect along the Ganges; a lower-caste boy in hopeless love, a daughter ridden with the guilt of a sexual encounter ending in a tragedy, a helpless father with a fading morality and a spirited child yearning for a family, all longing to escape the moral constructs of a small-town.
