The list of TV shows returning this year is as exciting as it can get! Tip: take deep breaths while you scroll down.

It’s here! The list we’ve been waiting for! The release dates for all (well, most of them) our favourite TV shows returning in 2016 are out. The list was mighty big and it took us a while to cut it down to this but we finally made it through. And now the only question that remains is, ‘how the f*ck are we going keep a tab on every damn show?’ but then again, where there is a will, there is a way. Many of the shows were divided in two parts, so, the ‘B’ basically refers to the second half of the season. The list is ready; the shows are ready to be aired. It’s you who needs to be prepared. Take a look at this beautiful list (We almost had tears).

#1 The Simpsons – Season 27B (January 3^rd)

There’s a reason that they’ve come so far with twenty seven seasons and still going strong. All because people have undying love for The Simpsons and the show very well deserves it! Back with the second half of the twenty seventh season; the show has already started airing, so, catch up, people!

#2 Family Guy – Season 14B (January 3^rd)

Peter Griffin and the family are back to make you cry while you laugh. The animated series is loved by many all over the world. Family Guy is on air now!

#3 Supergirl – Season 1B (January 4^th)

The series started last year and instantly grabbed the attention of superhero and comic lovers (of course). The show has been giving good competition to other comic-inspired shows like The Flash, Arrow and more. Supergirl is already up on your television screens!

#4 New Girl – Season 5 (January 5^th)

The light comedy show is already out with the new fifth season. It’s funny and it stars Zooey Daschanel. Do we need more reasons?

#5 Modern Family – Season 7B (January 6^th)

You know, the same old story of three families dealing with themselves and the problems with the outcomes that start a laugh riot. The series has won numerous awards and you can watch it with your family! Sometimes it’s better to come out of your cave (read: room) and spend time with familiar faces? The second half of the seventh season started yesterday, you might want to look it up!

#6 Black-ish – Season 2B (January 6^th)

A black-comedy series about an African American family that’s trying to raise their kids in a white neighbourhood is hilarious and so light that you can watch the entire first season in one go and you’ll end up wanting more. Good for you, the second season has started rolling out! Something you should not miss out on.

#7 2 Broke Girls – Season 5B (January 6^th)

Even after four seasons and still broke, Max and Caroline have made it to the fifth season, good on them! We wish to see them start their own cupcake business and for that and the comedy they bring together, we will continue to watch them work for it!

#8 The Big Bang Theory – Season 9B, (January 7^th)

Awarded ‘The Favourite TV Show’ by People’s Choice Awards clearly tells you how great this series is. The second half of the ninth season airs today and sadly it’s the second last season, so, cherish it.

#9 The Flash – Season 2B (January 19^th)

The Flash made it big from the very first episode and after one and half season gone, people have been waiting for the second half of the second season. Every fan knows how huge this series is and how maddening it is whenever Arrow and The Flash come together. And not to sound like a geek but they are starting a team and they’ll have a separate show (Legends of Tomorrow) which is coming out this year. HOW COOL IS THAT, HUH!?

#10 Supernatural – Season 11B (January 20^th)

Just two brothers kicking butts of evil, ghosts, monsters and other supernatural entities from the face of the Earth in this fantasy horror show. They’ve been doing this for eleven seasons and keep on coming back and that is why we love them!

#11 Arrow – Season 4B (January 20^th)

Another one from the world of DC Comics where the rich kid, Oliver Queen vows to protect this city from all kind of evil and doing that with just a bow and a couple of arrows. How badass is that!? Second half of the fourth season is coming soon enough. Hold on tight!

#12 Suits – Season5B (January 27^th)

After all the problems they have faced, Mike Ross and Harvey Specter are coming back at the end of this month. It sucks when they stop airing shows like this one in the middle and you sit with a straight face watching all the old episodes again till the new ones are out.

#13 Castle – Season 8B (February 1^st)

Welcoming the month of February with the second half of Castle’s eighth season (OH, Finally!). The showmakers should know by now that we are suckers for it and it’s not cool to make the viewers wait but anyway, it’s coming!

#14 Grey’s Anatomy – Season 12B, (February 11^th)

This sitcom showed us the other side of the doctors that are trying to save lives in the operation theatre. The medical drama has reached the twelfth season and with every season its hold on us has gone strong!

#15 The Walking Dead – Season 6B, (February 14^th)

While the love birds will be busy celebrating Valentine’s Day, we will be in our room with our food and watching The Walking Dead and yes that sounds better. On that note, we’d like to thank whoever chose February 14^th as the release date of the second half of sixth season, you, Sir, are very thoughtful.

#16 Better Call Saul – Season 2 (February 15^th)

The insanely amazing spin off of Breaking Bad is returning with its second season. If you haven’t heard of it or haven’t watched it, you’re missing out on something very crazy. A must, must watch for all Breaking Bad lovers.

#17 House of Cards – Season 4 (March 4^th)

To see a badass like Kevin Spacey doing some epic sh*t, we could’ve waited even longer! (who are we even kidding, that’s not possible) Hitting the screens in March, House of Cards will be better than ever, at least we think so.

#18 Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Season 3B, (March 8^th)

The spin off from Marvel’s The Avengers, follows the story of S.H.I.E.L.D. that brought all the superheroes together. The series shows the adventures of the organisation S.H.I.E.L.D. where they go against extraordinary and unexplainable threats.

#19 Empire – Season 2B, (March 30^th)

Luscious Lyon’s empire was stolen from under his nose and he couldn’t do anything about it. What’s more, Lyon’s apparent heir might have been killed in her womb by a furious Anika. We can’t wait to see what happens next. Find out on 30^th March when Empire’s mid season premiere airs on FOX.

#20 Daredevil – Season 2, March (TBA)

Daredevil is Marvel’s first job at the small screen and whoever has watched the first season, knows that it was a job well done. The series is pretty heavy and amazingly brought to us by Netflix. The second season is said to be releasing in March but the release dates are yet to be announced.

#21 Game of Thrones – Season 6, April (TBA)

The most awaited show of the year is returning in April but with dates still unannounced we have our fingers crossed for an early release. The teaser is out and it does nothing but makes you cringe because that’s just not enough.

Most awaited TV shows returning this fall

This fall is going to be full of surprises for sitcom lovers with shows like Modern Family, Empire, The Big Bang Theory and many more returning to the tube. Take a look at this list of TV shows returning this fall and mark your calendars to catch all the season premieres.

The Voice – 21^st September

Reality talent hunt show The Voice (U.S.) will be back with its ninth season on 21^st September this year on NBC. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will return as coaches for the season. In addition to that, Rihanna will be the key advisor of the series’ ninth season.

The Big Bang Theory – 21^st September

Season eight finale of The Big Bang Theory was quite the cliff-hanger with Amy breaking up with Sheldon just as he was about to propose marriage and Penny and Leonard dealing with their own truths while on their way to Vegas to get married. Modern Family – 23^rd September

Our favourite family will be back on the telly on 23^rd September and we already can’t wait to see them getting through life with their individual peculiarities. What we are waiting for the most is Haley and Andy’s love story. Do you think they’ll find out about their love for each other? Or will Andy go on to marry his girlfriend Beth? Find out soon.

Scandal – 24^th September

Season four of Scandal wasn’t the best one we’ve seen so far mostly because it didn’t match up to the style of gladiating we’d previously fallen in love with. This season promises to make a comeback for the series. Rumour has it that this season will showcase a “reconstitution” of Olivia Pope & Associates, the reason for which isn’t known for now. We won’t be surprised if Abby came back into the fold or Olivia hired a couple of new Gladiators.

Once Upon A Time – 27^th September

The fairytale characters are back in the fifth season of Once Upon A Time and we’d suggest the viewers to prepare themselves to welcome the new Dark One in the series. Premiering on 27^th September, let’s just hope that, in this season, all the previous evil characters team up to find the goodness in Emma Swan.

The Simpsons will be back with its 27^th season with many guest stars including Lena Dunham and Sofia Vergara. Need we say more?

A comedy about the final human survivors of a virus that swept the globe, The Last Man on Earth will be back with its second season on 27^th September. Watch the series unfold as Phil’s brother returns from space to add a rather unanticipated twist to the story.

NBC’s crime drama The Blacklist will be back with a much awaited third season on 1^st October. The second season ended with Liz and Red hopping on a van to flee the country together. Megan Boone, who plays Liz, says they share a confusing kind of love and we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Homeland – 4^th October

Homeland is returning with its fifth season this fall and reportedly is all set to deal with real world issues including the ISIS, the attack on Charlie Hebdo, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Edward Snowden and other activities and personalities labelled as terrorists and extremists. The other interesting element in the new season is the fact that Carrie Mathison is no longer with the CIA and is based out of Germany.

The Affair – 4^th October

Another one of the most awaited TV shows returning this fall, The Affair will be back with its second season on 4^th October picking up from the point where Allison and Noah are trying to piece their lives together. The last season ended with Noah getting arrested for the crime that destroyed the lives of four people. In this season, however, the drama will be narrated by four people in place of two including Noah’s ex-wife Helen and Alison’s former husband Cole.

The Flash – 6^th October

Action and fantasy series The Flash is returning with its second season which will reportedly explore multiple universes. The pilot season ended with Eddie sacrificing himself to save humanity, while Cisco realises that he has been affected by the particle accelerator explosion as well. Expect a lot of adventure in the second season, The Flash lovers!

Arrow – 7^th October

Third season of Arrow ended with Oliver Queen and Felicity riding off into the sunset while the rest of his friends and family stayed behind to protect Starling City. The fourth season will witness a drastic change in team dynamics and Thea Queen will rise to prominence as the masked hero.

The Walking Dead – 11^th October

Rick Grimes is back with his entourage with the 6th season of The Walking Dead series. 11th October shall be marked as the day when once again, The Walking Dead fans will witness another round of bloodshed & splatter like there’s no tomorrow – quite literally! We sure want to know what happens next in Alexandria as Rick finally gains his trust with the people in the community!

Returning TV shows you must watch in 2015

Blocking our favourite TV show’s returning date in a brand new calendar gives us more pleasure than marking birthdays and anniversaries. If you are also just like us then get your markers out and make note of the following important dates of the year. Here’s a list of eight returning TV shows in 2015 that you must look out for. For those of you, who haven’t seen any of these, please run marathon weekends and get with it!

#1 Downtown Abbey, Season 5 – Returned on 4^th January

The Crawley family is back with Downtown Abbey’s fifth season. This season promises to showcase women as the driving force with many more disasters, heartbreaks and mysteries. Take a look at the trailer to find out more.

#2 Girls, Season 4 – Returned on 11^th January

Known as ‘Sex and the City’ of the new generation, Lena Dunham’s ‘Girls’ returned to the small screen on 11^th January. With most characters taking the next step in their lives, the show is all set to take the crazy up a notch this year.

#3 Suits, Midseason premier of Season 4 – 28^th January

The second part of Suits’ season 4 is set to premiere on 28^th January. The series ended with all the characters in their most vulnerable spot so far, especially with Louis finding out about Mike’s secret. We can’t wait to find out what happens next!

#4 The Walking Dead, mid-season premiere of Season 5 – 8^th February

The remaining episodes of season 5 of ‘The Walking Dead’ will hit the airwaves on 8^th February. New battles and the struggle for survival in this post-apocalyptic drama are all set to make your blood run cold.

#5 House of Cards, Season 3 – 27^th February

Frank and Claire finally look like they are falling apart in season three of ‘House of Cards’. The teaser (link below) shows the newly-sworn President Underwood succumbing to the sins of his past. Will Underwood succeed with his evil plans again? Mark your calendar to find out.

#6 Mad Men, Final season – 5^th April

The last 7 episodes of the hit period drama ‘Mad Men’ will hit the screens on 5^th April. No concrete details of the last part of the series have been unveiled, but it has been said that every episode will be as big as a finale. Does Don Draper finally figure his life out? We’ll find out soon.

#7 Game of Thrones, Season 5 – 12^th April

Ever since Tyrion Lannister decided to take his much-needed revenge in the season 4 finale, the viewers have just been wondering what happens next. We don’t have insights into the new season but here’s all the new characters they are introducing to the series:

#8 Silicon Valley, Season 2 – 12^th April

The American sitcom ‘Silicon Valley’ that revolves around the lives of 6 young men struggling to make their start-up work will be back with, hopefully, a new business model. After a very successful first season, this series is back with a new season on 12^th April as well.
