USA vs Japan: Giant robots fight to the death!

Remember as kids we used to watch shows involving giant robots fighting, like Transformers and Power Rangers? Well as adults now we get to watch them in real life!

“Suidobashi, you have a giant robot, we have a giant robot. You know what needs to happen.”

       –  With these words the US Company MegaBot challenged the world’s only other giant robot maker in Japan called Kuratas Mecha.

“We can’t let another country win this. Giant robots are Japanese culture. Yeah, I’ll fight” said Kogoro Kurata as he accepted the duel.

And thus a new era of combat sports is born with giant fighting robot teams!USvsJapan-inpost

Details regarding the fight are still being decided between the two parties. As for the venue, they have the perfect place in mind – International waters. To fight on a ship or an aircraft carrier in the middle of the pacific, the battle is going to be breathtaking for sure!

The fight will take place in one year, giving both sides ample amount of time to prepare their bots to fight each other toe to toe and in their best condition possible (reminds us of that time when Optimus Prime kicked Megatron’s a** in the Transformers movie).

It simply doesn’t get any better than this now, does it?

  • First Indian drafted in NBA, congratulations to Satnam Singh Bhamara!

First Indian drafted in NBA, congratulations to Satnam Singh Bhamara!

Satnam Singh Bhamara just became the first Indian ever to be drafted in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The talented 19-year old hails from a remote village, Ballo Ke, in Punjab. The closest paved road from his house was 4 km away but that didn’t stop him from making his way into international glory. Towering at 7’2, Satnam was chosen by Dallas Maverick as the 52nd pick in round two.

While the young blood’s talent is still raw, he does seem to have a bright future ahead of him which brings a lot of hope, pride and joy for India.

After being drafted, Satnam said “I feel good about it because in India there are a lot of players who could have a chance to come here and play in college and high schools. I think I can open the door for everyone to come here and play. So it’s good for India and all the players. It’s good for me and my country.”( source )

According to his coach Kenny Natt, “Everything Singh must improve is related to his athleticism, whereas he’s already acquired some hard-to-develop basketball skills. For a player with Singh’s background, that’s surprising. For a player with Singh’s physical attributes, that’s downright incredible. The upside is obvious and astounding.” ( source )

Satnam Singh is the son of a farmer, Balbir Singh Bhamara who is also 7’2 and has had an unrelenting passion for basketball. However, he could never fulfill his dreams as his parents insisted that he tended to their fields in Punjab. But Balbir didn’t take this opportunity away from his son, and encouraged Satnam to follow his dreams.

Satnam said. “He (his father) never got the chance that I am getting now. He is very proud of me, and I want to play this game as well as I can play. That is my task now.” ( source

We would like to congratulate Satnam Singh on his hard work and success and wish him all the best to hit new milestones in his sporting journey.

The warriors dethrone the king. An overview of the NBA finals

Nothing worth having comes easy. The NBA finals have finally come to an end and after 40 years the Golden State Warriors have bagged their 1st NBA title. While the opposition, the Cleveland Cavaliers, were as fierce as ever even with their two starters ( Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love ) injured and unable to play they still managed to fight at par. But in the end it was the Warriors who prevailed on top as a team.

    bring it on home

Before game six, LeBron James tried to keep his team’s spirit up and the fans hyped and confident by giving a bold statement in the press “I feel confident because I’m the best player in the world, it’s that simple”.

But the Warriors team’s game play rotating the ball from side to side, end to end, under the sheer brilliance of Stephen Curry along with all round play of Andre Iguodala followed up with the dominance of Draymond Green’s triple–double brought an end to Cavaliers successful season with the final score 105 – 97, leading to golden victory in game 6.

    dont reach young blood

The players from Golden State always say it’s the support of their fans that brought them so far, known for being the best fans in the league, and here is the Oakland police department leaving a friendly reminder of the same.

LeBron did his best by dropping 32 points and getting 18 rebounds but sadly hard work does not always yield rewards. Yet both players had immense respect for each other.

As for the excitement, energy and happiness this photo shows it more than words can describe. Hey look even lil Riley Curry joins the party.
