  • How would you survive in the big city if you were a stray dog? – This video game nails it perfectly!

How would you survive in the big city if you were a stray dog? – This video game nails it perfectly!

“You are a dog lost in a randomly generated city. Looking for food. Looking for friends. Looking for home” – is exactly what Kevin Cancienne’s upcoming video game ‘Home Free’ is all about.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTRhbVa4tXQ

This video game creator has taken creativity to an entirely new level and we’re nothing but impressed.

Conceptualising an open-world survival video game that’s supposed to come out somewhere in 2016, Kevin Cancienne thought of a virtual world where you’re a homeless dog roaming the streets of a city and you need to find your way around with the cruelties of life.

    Inpost img-1

The video game creator hoped to raise an amount of USD 50,000 on Kickstarter.com to commence this project and just look at where he is now – Yes, Cancienne has successfully raised USD 98,328 as of 6th November 2015. Boy, now that’s some moolah coming his way for an extremely thoughtful project that is aimed to inculcate the feelings of empathy and respect for these little furry babies.

    Inpost img-2

Kevin Cancienne also ran a campaign on Twitter with the hashtag #homefreemydog asking users from all around the world to share pictures of their dogs that maybe used in the video game. Needless to say, he received a massive response on the social networking website and dog lovers the world over among others can’t wait for this game to be out with of the 6 dogs that have been shortlisted already.

#ProfileForPeace: India and Pakistan stand together like never before

Peace is the way forward for both India and Pakistan, two nations that are politically divided but habitually so united that the similarities never fail to amaze anybody. And to highlight the solidarity between the common people of both the countries, Mumbai-based Ram Subramanian started a campaign called Profile for Peace.

The 36-year old “artivist” as he calls himself, was startled when he heard about a renowned Pakistani artist being banned from performing in India by the Shiv Sena in Mumbai. To voice his opinion against these actions he resorted to social media and posted the following picture with the heart-touching note, urging people to change their profile pictures in support.

  • Here’s why castor oil should be an important part of your daily routine!

Here’s why castor oil should be an important part of your daily routine!

If your mom ever gave you castor oil as a kid and you decided to never use it again in your life, you wasted some golden words of wisdom. We do understand that castor oil isn’t very pleasing for your sense of smell but did you know that it is high in unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, proteins, and minerals? And not only is it good for your hair but also your skin, your stomach, feet and much more. Here are all the benefits of castor oil you need to know now and how to use it properly.

    How to use castor oil?

Castor oil is very thick in consistency and hence is best when mixed with thinner oil such as jojoba oil or even baby oil if that makes you more comfortable.

Mixing it with a different oil doesn’t just make it smell better, it makes the oil very easy to apply. You may also mix both the castor oil and your preferred oil (like jojoba for me) in a container and keep the container immersed in warm water. The heat from the water makes the mixture more fluid and gives the best results.

    Benefits of castor oil

    1) Healthy skin

Castor oil has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which makes it very useful in fighting bacteria that cause acne and scarring. Not only does it dry out your acne, it also helps in healing discoloration. But but BUT, do not use castor oil straight as it is on your skin. Mix it with jojoba oil for best results on your skin.

    2) Hair growth

One of the most widely recognised benefits of castor oil is that it encourages hair growth. If hair breakage is your nightmare then just apply a little bit of castor oil to your scalp for about twenty to thirty minutes daily and see the results for yourself. Not just your scalp, you may use castor oil for thicker brows and lashes as well but make sure you don’t get any oil in your eyes.

Again, remember that it’s best used with another oil.

    3) Aids digestion

Castor oil is a natural laxative and aids digestion especially for people with constipation issues. Castor oil if taken orally (only as directed by your doctor) is broken down in the intestine which makes the intestines move and helps in easing constipation.

    4) Treats dandruff

If you have a dry and itchy scalp, just rub a little bit of castor oil to it and see the results. Not only do its anti-fungal properties help in fighting the dandruff, the oil also provides the much needed moisture to your scalp to keep further dandruff at bay.

    Inp img-4 (1)

    Source

    5)  Relieves pain

Rubbing castor oil on to sore joints or achy muscles helps relieve pain. It’s best to mix castor oil with turmeric and apply on to the affected area to let the therapeutic properties do the magic.

  • This dog has a request for all of us and its hard hitting!

This dog has a request for all of us and its hard hitting!

Hi, my name is courage. I look like a normal, happy and a healthy dog.

    Inp img-1

    But I’m not.

    Inp img-2

I am one of those unfortunate living beings who were born on the streets and never had a chance to have a nice and loving family. They say I might be around 1.5 years old but I’ve lost the count of days where I had to go from street to street looking for food or a mere scratch on the back.

Life for me was okay till the time a human car (on a fine day) didn’t spot me walking on the road without realising that the car has brakes (or maybe he did realise – that’s something I would never know).

Little did I know, that very moment would change my life forever. Yes, the car ran over my hind legs and the human inside it never looked back.

This is exactly how he left me on the road.

    Inp img-3

You guessed it right! Those are my hind legs and I don’t feel them anymore.

I suffered at one of the busiest junctions in New Delhi with my inability to walk. I even once fell into a drain only to realise that I can’t get out of it myself. But, there was a good human that spotted me and saw how miserable I was. He was an auto-rickshaw puller. The man did pull me out of the drain but again; the hustle-bustle around that junction didn’t allow my rear legs to drag the rest of my body to a safer place. There I was. Lying in the corner for 8 days straight. Some did try and threw leftover food at me and I somehow didn’t die (though there wasn’t any reason for me to live).

    Inp img-4

    Here I am now.

    Inp img-5

I do agree, not all of them are bad. There was this human who saw me fighting for life on the road side and took me somewhere in his car (though I hated the fact that I was in one). I hate cars. I’m sure you guys have figured that out by now. But strangely, I still don’t hate humans. Every time one approaches me, with my gleaming eyes I try to wag my tail with happiness but unfortunately I can’t feel my tail either.

I now live at a beautiful shelter with many other dogs (some of them are just like me) and a beautiful lady who took me in and cares for me.

    Inp img-6

I have a humble request for whoever’s reading this post. If you drive a car, please make sure that you apply brakes when you see one of us in the middle of the road. It’ll only delay your ride by 15 seconds but it will cost us our lives or put us in terrible pain for the rest of it. Give me a home? Somebody? I promise I’d love you forever!

    Inp img-7

So that’s my story. I’m a fighter. And I hope for a better tomorrow not just for me, but many others like me.

Designers Shivan & Narresh concluded the day with their art-inspired collection in collaboration with the kitchen and bath specialty brand Kohler.  The collection took inspiration from Kohler’s Couture offerings and was an amalgamation of trikinis, draped trankinis, resort sarees, and bikinis. What’s more, it was presented at the landmark Imperial Hotel in Delhi and made for the perfect offsite show.
