While the debate over net neutrality in India continues, E-Commerce giant Flipkart that was earlier supporting the Airtel Zero plan have now opted out of it.
Airtel Zero plans to be an open marketing platform offering app-access to its customers at zero charge required the app makers have registered with Airtel Zero to provide this access. In such a scenario, start-ups all over the country have been crying foul due to increased expenses and larger companies taking the cake. Moreover, the policy has been coming off as limiting free-internet access to one and all.
In this scenario Flipkart, that was earlier supporting Airtel Zero, has now opted out of it sticking to net neutrality.
