Men’s Fashion 103: Let Lecoanet Hemant teach you how its done right!

The Indo-French label Lecoanet Hemant showcased their Fall/Winter’15 collection in the capital recently and we can’t wait to get our hands on it! The uber talented minds behind the brand, Didier Lecoanet and Hemant Sagar have travelled a long way across continents and are now planning to expand their reach pan-India starting with New Delhi.

Held at their atelier in Infocity, Gurgaon; the duo presented their latest collection named ‘Here and Now’ with a fashion show for their pret label ‘Genes’.

Our favourite pick of the lot was the menswear designed by Lecoanet Hemant that stole the show and here’s why!

1) No one does activewear better than this!

Simple, comfortable and most of all – stylish, was the range of active/sportswear that kicked off the show. T-shirts, cutoffs and track pants with the perfect accessories completed their look.

2) Their casual ensemble rocked the runway!

Jackets, boots, gloves and t-shirts with spectacular scarves made heads turn as these dapper dudes strutted down the pixelated aisle decked with lights.

3) Their formal attire with a hint of pop!

Business suits, formal shoes, pockets squares and cuffed bottoms paired with the perfect printed shirts/t-shirts set the best example of formal wear for the winter season.

4) The Indian touch!

Playing with short kurtas, wrap-around dhoti pants and bandhgala jackets in darker shades of winter made quite a statement on the runway adhering to designer Hemant’s Indian roots.

5) Their lounge wear sure tells us how to lounge in style!

We loved the fact that Lecoanet Hemant kept their loungewear very simple with minor detailing. Crisp shirts with tapered pants and just the right shoes gave us major style inspiration for this winter season!

This dog has a request for all of us and its hard hitting!

Hi, my name is courage. I look like a normal, happy and a healthy dog.

But I’m not.

I am one of those unfortunate living beings who were born on the streets and never had a chance to have a nice and loving family. They say I might be around 1.5 years old but I’ve lost the count of days where I had to go from street to street looking for food or a mere scratch on the back.

Life for me was okay till the time a human car (on a fine day) didn’t spot me walking on the road without realising that the car has brakes (or maybe he did realise – that’s something I would never know).

Little did I know, that very moment would change my life forever. Yes, the car ran over my hind legs and the human inside it never looked back.

This is exactly how he left me on the road.

You guessed it right! Those are my hind legs and I don’t feel them anymore.

I suffered at one of the busiest junctions in New Delhi with my inability to walk. I even once fell into a drain only to realise that I can’t get out of it myself. But, there was a good human that spotted me and saw how miserable I was. He was an auto-rickshaw puller. The man did pull me out of the drain but again; the hustle-bustle around that junction didn’t allow my rear legs to drag the rest of my body to a safer place. There I was. Lying in the corner for 8 days straight. Some did try and threw leftover food at me and I somehow didn’t die (though there wasn’t any reason for me to live).

Here I am now.

I do agree, not all of them are bad. There was this human who saw me fighting for life on the road side and took me somewhere in his car (though I hated the fact that I was in one). I hate cars. I’m sure you guys have figured that out by now. But strangely, I still don’t hate humans. Every time one approaches me, with my gleaming eyes I try to wag my tail with happiness but unfortunately I can’t feel my tail either.

I now live at a beautiful shelter with many other dogs (some of them are just like me) and a beautiful lady who took me in and cares for me.

I have a humble request for whoever’s reading this post. If you drive a car, please make sure that you apply brakes when you see one of us in the middle of the road. It’ll only delay your ride by 15 seconds but it will cost us our lives or put us in terrible pain for the rest of it. Give me a home? Somebody? I promise I’d love you forever!

So that’s my story. I’m a fighter. And I hope for a better tomorrow not just for me, but many others like me.

There’s no denying that women are obsessed with the devil that lives in details and are specialists in stressing over them. Not just time, they put a of lot effort and spend a lot of money to take care of their looks. Sometimes, despite of all our hard work our efforts go unnoticed. Although men really appreciate (or try to appreciate) the hard work we put into these details, they actually don’t pay attention to most of the things we obsess about. Let us all be true to ourselves and agree that most of the stupidest things and those great memories come from the times we are high on alcohol or on any other substances (no, we aren’t going to name any). Snake charmers are a completely different thing they pet king cobras but they make sure to remove their venom glands which usually results in their death sooner or later. Mind you, Tarantulas are not for beginners, it takes time to learn to deal with this tiny yet dangerous reptile. They’re poisonous and can do pretty bad harm, but then again, it depends how good of tarantula owner are you.

Another type of lizard that has been in demand as pets for a long time now and why not, they are pretty cool lizards. Getting yourself a pet Iguana means you’ll have to shed some weight from your wallet. They need a habitat, a very large one, even to adjust in a new home. They grow up to be pretty massive and it takes a lot of patience and knowledge to deal with them. If you’re good with all that, go ahead get one home!

Not the basic white rats or guinea pigs, we are talking something like, chinchilla, flying squirrel and more. They are little, cute and their care won’t cost you much. Easy to say, they’re safe and nice pets. Also, the only time they might cause you trouble is when you let them go free in the house. But that’s manageable.

Yes, you read it right. Apparently the Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was captured wiping his hands right after shaking them with our beloved PM Narendra Modi! As true Indians, we are a bit outraged but hold on; let’s just give the guy some benefit of doubt, maybe… just MAYBE he’s a germaphobe and does that every time he shakes hands with people around?

But the question is how often do you get to shake your hands with the Prime Minister of a nation that represents the population of more than a billion?

This woman rescues stray dogs and her story will make your heart melt!

Have you ever saved another being’s life? If you have you’ll understand the rewarding experience that it is to help someone live another day. Now imagine doing that for a living? Without expecting anything in return? Sounds amazing, doesn’t it! Anuradha Mishra Jain does just that for stray dogs and her life is a lesson for all of us.

Anuradha Mishra Jain runs a pet shelter in Ghaziabad and her life is an example for many of us. She doesn’t just rescue sick dogs from the streets but makes sure that they are well fed and brought back to good health. Not just that, her main task is to look after strays that are mostly declared terminally ill by various leading pet care facilities. She specializes in critical care and has been trained by a senior veterinary officer. She started running her pet shelter ‘Hope for the speechless souls’ six months back, but she has been helping stray dogs with food and medical aid since nineteen years.

Initially a hobby, now a fully grown pet care facility, her shelter houses 30 dogs and ensures they are looked after well. What’s more, she feeds 70 other dogs in the surrounding areas and provides them with basic medical care on a regular basis. Her dogs aren’t just the ones found or abandoned on the streets; she takes in dogs brought in by people and treats them to wellness. She takes pride in single-handedly managing the shelter using funds that come from her paying guest accommodations and a generous help from her husband. However, she is quick to point out that some noble people donate food, medicines and sometimes money to help her look after ‘her kids’ as she addresses them.

Brangelina are adopting a Syrian orphan and we can’t get enough of the good news!

The reports are in, and it’s happening, Brangelina have their plans finalised for adopting a Syrian orphan. Recently, when Angelina visited Syria, she met three brothers who were orphaned because their mother died in a bombing accident and the soldiers took their father away. As said by the RadarOnline source, Angelina was keen on adopting all three kids but Brad Pitt wasn’t convinced with the idea. He thought jumping from six kids to straight nine, would be a big problem for the family. The best idea they came up with was to adopt one of the three brothers.

Angelina has been to Syria more than six times, and has witnessed the problems people at the refugee camps are dealing with. Being the special envoy for UN High Commissioner for Refugees, she knows the pain and fear of the people more than anyone who isn’t a prime witness.

According to records, almost 70,000 children have lost their fathers and 3,700 have lost both their parents. A source told The Express that the couple has been planning the adoption for a while now. “This is something that has become very close to their hearts,” the source added, “They would like to accomplish it, if possible, before the end of the summer because, even though they are both busy, their diaries are relatively light for most of 2015.”

Another reason can be that, last month Angelina was informed by the doctors that she won’t be able to conceive children again and she needs to get her ovaries removed to prevent cancer. She went under a double mastectomy as another preventive measure, two years ago.
