Day 3: the best of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016

The third day of Amazon India Fashion Week AW’16 was rather unique giving us many menswear sighting and yes, we were thrilled. Budding designers like Ujjawal Dubey, Divyam Mehta, Rohit Kamra along with established names like Ashish N Soni, Rohit Bal, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, JJ Valaya, Abhishek Gupta, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Troy Costa and Varun Bahl showered their love for menswear on the runway. Take a look at the highlights.

While Antar Agni by designer Ujjawal Dubey stuck to minimalistic fashion with dhoti pants, kurtas and long waistcoats in earthy tones; designer Divyam Mehta’s lineup comprised bandhgalas, double-breasted suits and quilted jackets with a hint of embroidery.

Designer Sanchita’s collection was the perfect mix of glam and grunge rock with models donning platinum locks, sporty silhouettes and disco sequins. The bomber jackets and the sequined skirts made for our favorite picks from the lineup.

Very unlike their usual aesthetics, designer duo Pankaj and Nidhi presented a military-inspired line possibly giving us the best show of the third day. Structured skirts, crop tops, embellished military jackets, fringes and scallops complete with the right bags and hats finished the brilliantly executed collection.

Everything we loved at Day 2 of Amazon India Fashion Week SS’16

And that’s a wrap! Day 2 of the Amazon India Fashion Week kicked off with summer whites and prints showcased by designers Pratima Pandey, Rasa Jaipur and Tanvi Kedia. What followed was a riot of colours making heads turn on the runway with a fleet of spring & summer essentials. Take a look at the highlights of the second day of the Amazon India Fashion Week.

‘The Melody Affair’ by designer Pratima Pandey was a perfect start to the Amazon India Fashion Week with a collection made of embroidered whites. Rasa Jaipur’s collection was full of graphic prints adding the much needed edge to a summer wardrobe. Designer Tanvi Kedia’s line-up was a pleasant surprise comprising Moroccan prints and fabrics in flowy silhouettes.

Designer duo Hemant and Nandita presented outfits inspired by the American summer of the late 60s with bold prints in hues of white, orange and red. Separates were prevalent throughout their collection just like designer Pallavi Mohan’s ‘Not so serious’ approach. Shirt dresses, crop jackets and embellished skirts in shades of peach, pink and blue are what made her collection stand out! Designers Dev R Nil came up with a line for men & women yet again. Another collection on the second day that took inspiration from the 60s, the outfits were decked with floral prints & textures.

Tennis skirts, visor caps and cut-out dresses amalgamated with Indian textiles, is what designer Anand Bhushan presented in his assemblage of garments. A perfect example of fashionable sportswear at its very best, his collection titled ‘Deuce’ made the perfect sports-luxe statement.  Samant Chauhan’s ‘Kinnaur Queen’ collection defined pure luxury on the ramp! Gold detailing, impeccable embroidery with structures seen rarely is what set the runway on fire.

Adding another feather to the vintage stories for the day was designer Payal Pratap. Inspired by the 50’s era, the designer incorporated floral patterns with stripes and polka dots giving her ‘Vintage Rose’ line a very sophisticated yet serene look. Embracing his ‘Inner Child’ was designer Ashish N Soni. Concluding the day with fun and quirkiness with models rollerskating down the ramp, Ashish added another unique fashion show memory in our hearts!
