Kalki Koechlin in Gaurav Gupta for the special screening of her movie ‘Margarita With A Straw’

Actress Kalki Koechlin was spotted in a Gaurav Gupta number in the capital at the special screening of her upcoming movie ‘Margarita With A Straw’ in Delhi. She looked gorgeous in a sapphire blue coloured shoulder cut out dress fresh off the AIFW runway by designer Gaurav Gupta. The look was completed with antique golden earnings and black stilettos and side-split hair pulled back in a bun.

Celeb sightings: Aamir Khan’s special screening for ‘Margarita With A Straw’

Actor Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao hosted a special screening for Shonali Bose’s highly acclaimed movie ‘Margarita With A Straw’ recently in Mumbai. This Kalki Koechlin starrer is a coming-of-age film that revolves around the journey of a wheelchair user student Laila (played by Kalki) suffering from cerebral palsy.

Known faces from B-town emerged in support of the movie including Shraddha Kapoor, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Anurag Kashyap, Rajkumar Hirani, Dibakar Banerjee and more. Here are all the pictures.

The beautiful actress Amyra Dastur was spotted at the poster launch of the upcoming Mahesh Bhatt production ‘Mr.X’ in Mumbai. She looked every bit a stunner in a white short skirt and a black lacy top by Madison, paired with black stilettos to complete the look. How adorable was Manish Malhotra’s lineup for the Mijwan Show!

Shabana Azmi’s NGO Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS) completed 4 years of its incredible journey recently. The grand annual Mijwan fundraiser fashion show 2015 was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai to celebrate the same. Acclaimed Designer Manish Malhotra showcased his creations with Bollywood celebs and their star kids walking down the runway. The underlying idea was to show support for empowerment of rural women and their education. Check out these beautiful moments from the Mijwan Show.

Best of hair-styling at Amazon India Fashion Week A/W’15: Day 1

The most-anticipated Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter edition kicked off in New Delhi on 25^thMarch 2015. Besides the awe-inspiring ensembles of India’s most renowned fashion designers, there were also plenty of exciting hair-styling trends to check out on day 1 of the event. Here’s our pick of the best ways to do up those tresses as learned from the runway.

#1 Tie ‘em tresses:

Models walking the ramp for designer Rajesh Pratap Singh’s collection ‘The Best Medicine is Laughter’ were seen in neatly tied-up hair buns on the side and back. The nurse caps perfectly complemented the theme. Models walking for Kavita Bhartia completed the entire look with roughly curled, tied-up hair.

#2 Crop them up:

The ear-short, curled, muddled look was carried off effortlessly by models walking the ramp for designer Nikasha’s collection ‘Ruby’ on the second day of the Amazon India Fashion Week A/W’15.

#3 Crowns and gilded glamour:

Designer Anju Modi transformed the ramp into a dreamy world with her collection ‘How to write a fairytale’ with models in open, tangled, curly hair and crowns to complement the entire look. Concluding the first day of the extravaganza was designer JJ Valaya’s collection ‘The Bolshoi Bazaar’ with models walking effortlessly in high, tied buns with antique gold embellished head bands and hair accessories.

Celeb spotting at Lakmé Fashion Week

Lakmé Fashion Week might be over but we can’t get enough of all the glamorous appearances that our favourite celebrities made at the event. They dazzled as showstoppers on the ramp, flaunting ensembles by some of India’s most renowned designers. The five-day event in Mumbai’s Palladium Hotel was brimming with silver and small screen allure as the crème de la crème of the industry walked the ramp for Manish Malhotra, Kunal Rawal and Yogesh Chaudhary amongst many others.

Bollywood heartthrobs Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor looked strikingly hunky as they walked the ramp for designer Kunal Rawal.

TV Actor and host Karan Tacker certainly made the ladies drool as he carried off designer Ken Ferns’ creation of a monochromatic suit with a crisp white shirt and embellished buttons.

Southern beauty Tamannaah Bhatia made heads turn as the showstopper for designer Payal Singhal’s collection, ‘Palace of Mirrors’.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh walked the ramp looking dapper in one of Raghavendra Rathore’s creations.

Actress Sagarika Ghatge did complete justice to the creation of designers Yogesh Chaudhary, Pallavi Singhee and ILK, looking absolutely delightful in a cream-coloured lace dress.

Gauri Khan looked stunning as she presented her summer-resort collection for Satya Paul entitled, ‘A Tropical Wonder’.

B-town beauty Shraddha Kapoor was the showstopper at the Absolute Sculpt show by DRVV.

Soha Ali Khan dazzled with her post-marriage glow for designer Babita Malkani.

Photos: Manish Malhotra’s exclusive collection ‘Blue Runway’ at Lakme Fashion Week

Designer Manish Malhotra unveiled his summer collection recently at the Lakme Fashion Week held in Mumbai. This was Malhotra’s first ever offsite show amongst all his associations with Lakme Fashion Week. It marked the launch of ‘WEvolve’ a global campaign and programme aimed at empowering young men and women to challenge norms that lead to gender violence.

The designer’s latest collection showcased mirror work and floral embroidery while adding a 3D and textural effect to the elegant pieces. Stylish jewellery by Anmol Jewellers added the bling to the collection that was dominated by hues of blue with a bold touch of variations of yellow reflecting the assurance of a positive forthcoming.

Hollywood actress Rosario Dawson joined the designer for opening the show along with Bollywood divas like Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandes, Shabana Azmi, Sridevi, Huma Qureshi, Neha Dhupia and Sophie Choudry were also present at the event looking gorgeous as ever.

The clothing line included flowy gowns, jacket-saris, halter crop tops and skirts as an ode to the traditional lehenga. Since the show was about gender empowerment, the designer gave special attention to the men’s collection incorporating bandhgala jackets and long shirts tailored to perfection. This youthful collection by the designer celebrated the essence of positivity and change keeping in mind the younger generation which is the key agent to change.
