This action-thriller depicts American and Chinese agencies trying to track a cyber criminal who is out to hack the international banking network.

A biographical drama, ‘Mr. Turner’ is about the life of the famous British painter J.M.W. Turner and the experiences that inspired him to paint. Featuring Timothy Spall as J.M.W. 10 Indian animal shelters that will restore your faith in humanity!

This goes out to all the animal lovers out there! Stray, lost and unloved animals, that need care and protection by us humans, can be found everywhere in the country! But there’s hope, and this hope comes in the form of small organisations also known as Animal shelters which run on donations, volunteers and faith. Take a look at a few of these altruistic bodies that all of us might want to be a part of.

1. People for animals – One of India’s largest animal welfare organisations with a nation-wide network of 26 hospitals and 165 units, People for animals or PFA works to rescue and rehabilitate sick and abandoned animals. With over 2.5 lakh members and over 50k followers on Facebook, PFA is bringing about a significant change in the attitude towards animal life in India.

2. Friendicoes – This New Delhi-based NGO has been rehabilitating animals in need for the last 35 years. Having witnessed tremendous growth and reach since its inception, Friendicoes looks after and finds homes for abandoned and rescued animals and runs a mobile clinic as well.

It places these pets into loving homes and conducts mass sterilisationsof stray animals in different zones across Delhi.

At Smokey’s, American BBQ meets smoke-infused sophistication

Since Smokey’s opened in Delhi’s GK-II area about a year ago, it has been as influential as every other iconic restaurant in the city. Not only is it famous for its smoke-infused food and cocktails, its flamboyant hospitality and vibrant ambience is what bringstrue connoisseurs back to this restaurant. Restaurateur and owner Shiv Karan Singh walked us through the journey of this now-beloved Delhi haunt. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Shiv Karan Singh: I feel today every place has to be for everybody, kind of a feel good factor. Smokey’s is more than a restaurant; it’s an activity space where people can engage and have a great time without pinching their pockets. Yes of course we want everybody to come but I want everybody to remember me for my food more than anything else to be honest.

One look around the restaurant’s lofty wood and brick decor and you can guess the type of food they serve. From American style barbeque steaks to grills; this restaurant has something to satiate all kinds of palettes.

Shiv Karan Singh: I love all my food, my steaks, yes I love my steaks and I think what we offer is a very different palette of things whether it’s from the European to the little twist of the Indian taste. So I think we guys must be the one of the first ones to start with burger sliders and burger hot dogs, we do a lot of steaks, we do a lot of good fish; we have ‘red snapper’ we have ‘John Dory’, we have three or four different types of steaks which we offer which is quite known amongst the people out here.

The entrance of the restaurant is decked with a shot bar and the side wall is decked with coloured arty bottles. Smokey’s takes pride in the innovation they’ve introduced into the preparation of their cocktails.

Shiv Karan Singh: So we’ve used the smoke element with the liquor so we have a lot of smoke based cocktails out here. Whether you call it a smokey martini, a lock stock, old fashioned, all these are very new with lot of smoke with wood being used with a lot of things infusing together. My personal favourite cocktail here is the ‘smoking lock stock’ which is a vodka based cocktail thatI love, and then John does a ‘Johntini’ its a single malt cocktail which is one of my favourites out here.

Gurmmeet Singh’s ‘Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene’ starring Zayed Khan, Rannvijay Singh and Tena Desae in lead roles is also set to hit screens on 16^th January. This comedy-thriller revolves around an honest, common man’s life choices and his simple desire to protect himself and his loved ones.

Releasing on the Republic Day weekend (23^rd January) is the much-awaited ‘Dolly Ki Doli’ featuring Sonam Kapoor in the lead along with co-stars Pulkit Samrat, Rajkumar Rao and Varun Sharma. Kapoor plays the role of a shrewd runaway bride who gets married to different men only to escape with all their wealth.

Also releasing on the same day is the muti-starrer ‘Baby’ starring Akshay Kumar, Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, Taapsee Pannu, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Madhurima Tuli. The movie revolves around the operations of a counter-intelligence unit set to fight terrorism.

At the end of the month, you have Mithun Chakraborty-starrer ‘Hawaizaada’ to look forward to. With Ayushmann Khurrana and Pallavi Sharda also in leading roles, the film projects the events from the life of Shivkar Bapuji Talpade. Talpade is believed to be the first scientist to invent a flying machine, even ahead of the Wright brothers. The movie will be out on January 30.
