Bollywood movies releasing this May


The month of May is all set to offer a mix of action, drama and comedy to keep you busy while the temperatures soar. Akshay Kumar, Ram Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut amongst others are set to entertain you. Here’s everything you need to know about the most awaited Bollywood movies releasing this month.

1) Gabbar is Back – 1st May

This action drama flick is a remake of southern hit Ramanaa, starring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Hassan. The movie revolves around the life of Gabbar Singh Rajput, a man who decides to take charge of a social order and opts to fight against corruption in a world full of injustice.

2) Kuch Kuch Locha Hai – 8th May

This movie starring Ram Kapoor and starlet Sunny Leone is about the adventures of a rich businessman. The problems begin when he falls in love with a film star Shanaya (Sunny Leone). Packed with humour, this movie will surely take you on a laughter ride.

3) Piku – 8th May

Piku is a comedy-drama film that revolves around the relationship of Piku who is an architect living in Delhi and her old father as they take a road trip to Kolkata. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in lead roles, this movie has been one of the most awaited movies of 2015.

4) Bombay Velvet – 15th May

Anurag Kashyap’s much talked about Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar is set to release on 15th May. Based in the 60’s era the film is about the story of a boxer Johnny Balraj (Ranbir Kapoor) and an aspiring jazz singer Rosie (Anushka Sharma). Based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables, the film is set to showcase the events that unfold when their hopes and dreams collide with their individual realities.

5) Welcome to Karachi – 21st May

Welcome to Karachi is a comedy about two Indians who want to go to the United States of America but instead land up in Karachi, Pakistan without their passports. Starring Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani this movie is sure to give you a hearty laughter.

6) Tanu Weds Manu Returns – 22nd May

Tanu weds Manu Returns is a romantic comedy and a sequel to the 2011 hit Tanu Weds Manu starring Kangna Ranaut as Tanu and R Madhavan as Manu. The movie shows the journey of the couple heading for a divorce. While Tanu’s parents are searching for a groom again, Manu falls for a Tanu look-alike Haryanvi athlete Kusum.
